Is it possible to edit a received or sent message? Why? One example: I
want to delete some large encoded attachments and save them in a
separate directory. In the message itself I then want to put a
reference to these attachments, so that I know where they are.

I normally want the attachments to be encoded in the message (no
seperate file). But somtimes, f.e. when the attachment is very large, I
want to keep it in a seperate attachment directory.
So, is it possible to seperate the attachment from the message but
keeping the link?
