2. After downloading messages from a pop server does TB! tell the
server to mark the messages as downloaded, or does TB! keep track of
this locally?

keep an eye on them I do use the dispatch_mail_on_server feature.
Besides we are using a cyrus imap server on linux and I do not always
get a mail ticker for mails that actually were received for me. Using
