now they should be turned on default, you're right.

work.
She is using The Bat! v1.62r under Windows XP 5.1 Build 2600 Service
Pack 1. The tooltips don't appear.
I remember there used to be an option under Options / Preferences to
show or not show tooltips

I saw tooltips in TB just once and since this special day never saw
them again...
I'm used to these intermittent tooltips with Windows but the problem
appears much more rarely and I usually manage to get them back.
