Never mind.  I think I've got it sorted.  I just needed to reorder the
priority of the filters, as one of them was to "park" all messages.  Once I
made sure all other filters came before the "park" filter, all is well
again.  :)

I did copy it, not successful.

That would be interesting, it is on a RAID 6. I do have an OS backup as well as 
a backup from RegEdit of the correct tree.

Thanks I will have a go and see what happens. My method is much the same it 
would go to message.old.0.tbn

They are something to do with a backup system that I use by Altaro.
