Just follow the URL at the bottom of any message on TBUDL. Choose the
relevant link on the left under 'Contents'.

or

To join the TBBETA, send a message to
mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm sure the URL will work, but I'm not so sure about the 'mailto' link
because IIRC there was some maintenance on the servers which may have an
impact.

Give either a try, & let us know of any problems.

We have reasoned that very few beta testers would be lagging behind
to the point where they would be unable to recognize a valid
PGP/MIME sig and that PGP users interested in verifying our
signatures would most likely be using up-to-date TB software. You

That's not the problem, the IMAP at my mailserver works. The problem is
the config in TB.
In stead of making by hand all my existing POP3 folders in the IMAP
account, I asked for an option to copy (transfer) it all from the POP3
config in TB to the IMAP config in TB.

I have both possibilities, so I can use POP3 and IMAP at the same account.
I tried it our with Mulberry and that worked well.

At the moment, I've everything in TB as POP3, but would like to try out IMAP with TB.
Therefore I asked for the possibility setting over the whole POP3 config to an
IMAP account that I created. Doing it all over by hand, creating all those
folders with templates, etc., that I've in POP3 and wish also in IMAP would cost
me a lot of time, which I haven't.

I take it you are referring solely to S/MIME here?

I've come to the conclusion that the internal implementations are best
used for a closed environment where keeping up with the world isn't
required.

..which leads me to my next question, my guess is that Secure Bat! or
Authentic Bat! would be no different -- RFC-1991 internal PGP and same
issues with S/MIME?

I've really not any practical use for any of the certificate options
it just a neat widget in there that I would like to geek with. :-)

Sounds like the worst case is if I use the RFC-1991 that I won't be
able to verify most of the PGP sigs and if I were to want to use the
ciphers to exchange email then the other party would have to jump a
couple hoops so that I could properly decode from them. Aside from
that most everyone would be able to read my RFC-1991 sigs and decrypt
from me?

Heh! I am using W95 after all.. may as well go all out and stay in the

The first thing I'll say here is that Address book templates are
often a better and clearer alternative to Folder templates. I use
them extensively. Folder templates can even be a danger when they
include macros to change the addressing of a message.

Consider also, that any "off-list" replies will still inherit the
formatting you have designed for on-list messages.

In this instance, I would check in your address book to see if you
have an entry for the list posting address and look at the templates
there. If there is a specific template it will override the folder
template anyway.

Hi Craig,

Although I've got no past experience with TB or RIT it has been
apparent that their main talent lay in programming. Perhaps come
September 1 the official news update will be happy.

Frankly I can't imagine them locking you into v1.xx when your purchase
was on the last official release of 1.xx and within such close
proximity to a new release. Seems equivalent to them shooting
themselves in the foot -- surly would create some noise in the reviews.

In the short time I have been foraging for information about TB I have
run across people who have written that RIT stated they would be
getting a free update to 2.x due to the proximity that they registered
v1.x.

It's confusing at best, especially when the official word at the site
at this time seems to be a little unclear.

EG: "Within 2 months.." sounds to me like a generous offer to v1.xx
users who may have been using/upgrading for free for years and really
not saying 'those who bought within two months of v2 release..'

Essentially I am thinking there may be translation/interpretation
confusion. Considering other stuff I've read on the site, the
emails I received from them and so forth it's been apparent that
although it's in english, it's not the typical run of the mill
american english that I take for granted and I find myself needing to
read, reread.. Sadly I'm still confused... Part of which has kept me
from having already registering TB!.
