Adding a date to AB entries. Any suggestion?
Hello all, I manage 3 AB groups automatically with filters to add and delete addresses to/from them. It would be very convenient for me to, also automagically, include a field (Birthday or any other) with the date when the entry has been added to the AB and, so far, I have not found a way of doing so. I'm looking at the possibility of instead of adding addresses directly to AB, adding them to a text file (obviously automagically) that I could then once a day manually import into the AB, but I haven't found any way of doing this either. I would appreciate any imaginative suggestion on how to achieve this. TIA. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Hello MAU, I would appreciate any imaginative suggestion on how to achieve this. I got it. This happens to me many times. I give up on something, I ask for help and then is when I find the solution myself. It is easier that I thought. What my filters must do as action is: -Export message to plain text file D:\Temp\add.csv With 'append' option selected And with template = %FROMADDR, %DATESHORT, And then once a day all I have to do is import this file to the desired AB group, importing the date in the Notes(Memo) field. Hello Paul, Hi! Is it possible to use different templates for plain reply vs reply quoting selected text? That is, if I use just reply I want the (whole) quoted message to appear at the bottom below my sig, with the cursor at the top. Whereas if I do reply quoting selected text I want to have both the whole message quoted below, as well as just the selected text quoted up at the top above the cursor. Is this possible (using 3.5)? I don't think it is possible, but I'm mot 100% sure. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Re: wrapped lines in header display?
Hello Paul, Hi! Is it possible to have long lines wrapped in the header display for a message? That is, if there's a long CC: line (for example), then it shows the first few then ... at the end, and I have to manually select and scroll around to see the whole list. Is there some way to have it wrap a long line like this onto multiple lines in the header panel so that I can see them all at once? Not the way you want it. But if while focus is on the message pane you right click and select 'RFC-822 Headers' you will see all e-mail headers, including CC. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Here are just a few: Watch Replies In has not been fully functioning since 3.5.00. One needs to keep an older thebat.exe handy to mark new messages. 3.5.25 will then find new replies but requires manually refreshing. Many shortcuts are not possible with the new customization. An example is creating a shortcut for displaying only unread messages (Alt VDU). The help feature is back at 3.0 still - i.e. the help file for 3.5.xx is missing :-( Entering a folder with no previously read message - such as the Junk mail folder - shows no message in the auto-view window. So, instead of using my hotkey to delete mail from the store and the server, I need to first change my focus to the message list - either my having to click on a message or a multi keystroke such as Tab followed by up-arrow. -- Best regards, Bill The Wounded Bat 3.5.25 Pro BayesIt! 0.8.1 X-Ray 1.4.0.0 XP Pro SP2 POP3 Current version is 3.5.0.17 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re[2]: Submission Forms?
Seem interesting, but I can't find anything in the help file about them. M Yes, there is some info in Help. I don't know if enough, but there is M some, even about Form templates. Just search Help for 'forms'. There is more than enough info about them in the help, with examples. At least, not with my little knowledge. I'd sure create a quick template with a short alias like quo or whatever. TB! still uses a lot of memory to open attachments. However, minimizing frees up the memory. However, if you keep TB! always in the systray, then the memory will not be freed on minimizing. So, there's a way to avoid the memory consumption, but it's not entirely gone. Hello Robin! On Friday, June 03, 2005, 8:21 PM, you wrote: There are always issues and annoyances. It's just whether or not those issues or annoyances affect you. Only one way to find out. :) How about the memory consumption problem you noted in an earlier subrelease? Does that appear to be fixed? It appears to be fixed here. CPU is fluctuating between 0 and 22 per cent on the Task Manager. When I launch and begin to use TB!, the Page File number changes from 265 MB to 278 MB. (I'm running 61 processes because I use F-Secure as my AV program, and it utilizes a lot of processes. Probably many people run much leaner than I do.) Basic POP3 things (send, receive, filter, and manage mail) are working for me. You could save your current version in a back-up, and try this one out. If you use keyboard shortcuts, they won't carry over and you will have to redefine them using the new View/Toolbars/Customise/shortcuts system. There are some minor things that I don't like--1) it still won't quote (as has been true since v. 3.0.1.33) Smiley ASCII text when Smiley imaging is enabled in RTV, but this happens only randomly; 2) there is an issue or two with scrollbars; 3) I had to acquire an icon skin set that MAU made, in order to be comfortable with the new icons. And so on. Small things like that. We would all be interested in your opinion of v. 3.5.25, if you should indeed decide to try it out. It's a keeper for me. But then, I have a fairly high tolerance level for small inconveniences, and my basic requirements in an e-mail program are few and well met in the current version of TB! -- Best regards, Mary The Bat! 3.5.25 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.5.0.17 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
