that is pretty slick. too bad it only came around the time I switched
to IMAP and don't use local filters anymore. Still, think should be
another item there, something to the effect of 'Last triggered on' and
the date.

JP> Should all filters have this option selected?

Definitely not.
Among all (100+)of my filters there's no more than one or two that
have this option enabled.

A message will be compared against the first filter, if it matches
it'll be processed and it won't be compared against the next filter
(unless the first filter has 'continue processing...' enabled)
If it doesn't match, it'll be compared to the next filter and on and
on and on, until it finds a match (without 'continue processing...'
enabled) or until it runs out of filters.
Basically this means that, as filtering takes time and processor
power, you should put your busiest filters on top, because that means
that you won't waste processor time on comparing lots of messages
against filters that won't be triggered anyway.
Should you enable 'continue processing' for all filters you're
losing whatever you gained with an efficient filter order.

When you look into my sorting office, the first filter you'll see is
my the one that acts upon the spam header inserted by my mail server,
next you see some filters regarding some heavy duty mailing lists. The
first eight filters process more than 95% of my incoming mail. I don't
gain anything by comparing all that mail against my other 100+
filters.

What complicates this story are subfilters. When a filter is
triggered by a message, the subfilters will be compared against that
message, when the filter doesn't get triggered, the subfilters will
be left alone.

That's not quite right. If a filter doesn't have that option enabled,
messages processed by that filter won't be checked against other
filters.
Messages that don't trigger such a filter will be compared against the
next filter.

That's up to you - if you want a filter to carry out an action and then
another filter later to carry out a further action, then no, not for the
first of the filters.

If you want a/the filter to be triggered and then that is it for that
message then, yes, stop the process at that filter.

I have dual monitors with different native and set up resolutions. I do NOT
get TB centring across both monitors - fortunately - because the monitors are
not next to each other.

Hmm - just a minute... how do you get it to minimize to the systray? If

There is an issue with using MAPI currently where if you try to send a
message while TB! is checking mail the message will not go and sit
endlessly in your outbox.

In conjunction, since a combined send and receive does just that it
will never send your message. It's a bug that's been reported and if I
knew how to look it up I'd post it here but quite frankly I don't.

But you can at least take solace in knowing it's not just something
you're experiencing, but that doesn't make it any easier to realize a
message you thought was sent is still sitting in your outbox minutes,
hours, or even days later.

Since filters only work from the top down, if one of the filters
above your newly created filter act on the message it will not be
available to be acted on by the lower filter. Also if one of your
filters does not have continue processing checked it will not proceed

Thanks.

Another issue which puzzles me:-

Write a new filter, it goes to the bottom of the heap, and it doesn't work.

Move it to the top, and Bingo, works.

Why is this and how to find / fix whatever is causing this problem?

Hi Stuart,

That's a great explanation - thanks very much for that :-) It seems to be able
to let you customise the toolbar too (that's the 'standard' entry under 'main
form' I think - it doesn't seem possible to change the actual toolbar icons
though, only the entries listed on the toolbar, which is a shame). It's funny -
customising the toolbar was one of the features I most wanted in TB, for quite
a while now...and now that I seem to have it, I can't think of what to do with
it! ;-)

New to this thread.

I have two filters which file an invoice from each of my isp accounts in
their own folder, and also forward same to the cashier at work.

I notice now all that is forwarded is the message header, body has been
"left behind"

Worked for me in 3.62.

I'm afraid not. But if you make one, let me know! :-)

I see the same thing. I think it is another bug associated with large
(120DPI) fonts. That's what I have on my system.

Bat plugin for Copernic Desktop Search?

2006-05-02 Thread Andreas Schwartmann
Hello list,

I have switched from GDS to Copernic Desktop Search because I don't
really like Google anymore.

I wonder now if there is a way to index Bat message bases with this
software.

Is there any plugin available?

Regards
Andreas

Access Violation in Customizer (was: Re: New Customizer behavior)

2006-05-02 Thread Martin Schuster
Hello Simon,

I tried that (see the item "test" and its child entry "delete" in the
screenshot) and got an access violation when pressing the ok button:

http://www.aspekt1.net/ms/temp/tbAVCustomizer.gif

Subsequently the TB toolbar was messed up until I restarted TB.

Can anyone confirm this?
