setting the received time/date

2006-08-18 Thread Roelof Otten
Hallo TBUDL,

I'm just wondering. Would anybody know of a tool or a plug-in that
allows you to to alter the time/date in the Received: column, like
setting it to the most recent Received: header in the message?

msgtag and TB?

2006-08-18 Thread Tom
Hello Everyone,

I came across this program MsgTag http://www.mstag.com/home/ and was wondering
how this program
would interact with TB? In fact I seem to remember that I can configure TB
somewhere to ignore any read receipts coming via OE
(though I forgot where it is).
As MsTag seems to work somewhat differently, I am curious to know if someone
sends me an email and I
read it in TB, will the info that I actually read the mail go back to the
sender or not?

I don't know whether you can use it while sending with TB, but it
won't tell anybody you read a message with TB.

TL In fact I seem to remember that I can configure TB somewhere to

Account - Properties - Templates - Reading Confirmation / Action

MsgTag inserts a picture into the message or to be more precise, it
adds a link to a picture in your message. The sender isn't notified
when the message is read, but he's notified as soon as the picture has
been viewed.
As we all know one of the greatest features/flaws (pick what you
want) of TB is that it doesn't show pics that aren't sent along with
the message.
Therefore nobody knows you've read the message since you didn't view
the picture.
If you open the message in your browser you'll be viewing the picture
and the sender will be notified.

Personally I like it that way, so for me that is good news.
Thanks also, for the good explanation.

TB Clean Install

2006-08-18 Thread Tim Hamm
Hello TBUDL,

Is it possible to do a clean install and save all my existing
folders? Also, if I do a clean install, will I have to reload my
international pack and mail fiter? With Eudora it was simple, you
just saved the Qualcomm folder in user name applications and
re-install, then drop the Qualcomm folder back into Application
  Data and everything was set.

Re[2]: Folder specific view modes

2006-08-18 Thread rich gregory
rg In ver 2.12 is there a way to set this or that folder to use a different
rg view mode than the rest of the folders?
rg I see in the folder properties general tab an unavailable option to
rg Edit view mode. Why is this unavailable?

PB While you wait for more competent replies, you set each folder to no
PB view mode.
PB Think this stops you settings from being overwritten by any standard
PB setting.

Ah! The view mode options do not alter the real MODE of the view, only
the columnar options.

I was hoping that folder specific view modes would allow me to say
folderA is HTML views and folderB is plain text view mode.

Thx
RG

Sure. Create a complete backup via Tools » Backup and in the new

What is the probability that the files I'm backing up could be
corrupted? Is that unlikely?

It hasn't happened to me that a backup was corrupt, but just in case
you could make a straight copy of TB's mail directory.

As long as TB's backup doesn't fail, the files are ok.

TB's internal backup however does NOT backup program files. It includes
account configurations, address books, and the messagebase. No program
files, no plugins, and no registration data.

That means: you have to re-install the international pack, and any
plugins you were using, and you should have your registration data at
hand as you have to re-enter it.

What makes you think so?

I had no problems using this procedure when I moved to another
computer. But then, I didn't have a problem with the previous
installation. Did you? Please tell us more details.
