Hi Thomas, msl> since of late, I have a problem in sending attachments. The msl> attachments are never transmitted as it is cut off halfway through msl> with a error report that says 'server reports error: the response is r msl> mail, end with "." on a line by itself'. This sounds like an old bug. What version are you using? the version is 3.0.1.33 and i love it.. thanks to roeloff otto. i doubt that its a bug, but may be my own fault. i copied TB's EXE file from my computer to another computer as i wanted the default email to be TB. when clicked it may have automatically installed and the screen appeared asking various question to configure as if it was a newly installed program. this was done as i did not have the downloaded software with me to install and run TB on a different computer and yes, i wanted the same version installed on the other computer too. from my computer, attachments are transmitted superbly. -- regards vernon Current version is 3.95.03 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Antispam plugin
I used before Bayes Antispam Filter by Winkler. This produced approx 10% of spam mail as good, but never any good mail as spam. I read that a number of BAT users switched to AntiSpamSniper. I followed the advise, but found that although it only had approx 2-3% spam mail as good, but about the same proportion of good mail as spam. This is more dangerous because I have to scrutinize the spam mail. Actually we had a discussion over at tbot and some of the comments (from Mary) I found as spam, even if tbot is shown at least twice on the friends list. The same happened with others on the "Friends" list from other addresses. If so, please refer to the BT > report pointed out by George. Yes, that covers it. My workaround is to add a user parameter. The parent is now "if sender contains any of" (the domains they send emails from) move to magazine folder AND "set (user parameter) magazine=1". The subfilter now says "If Additional Params magazine is equal to 1 AND subject contains 'subscription' move to the 'subscription' subfolder". This seems to work mainly as expected, with two exceptions I found during testing. Firstly, the subfilter does not work when activated with a hotkey. My guess would be that's related to the way user parameters work, as this suggests they may only be stored for the duration of the current filtering session. Secondly, re-filtering the subscription subfolder moves its contents to the magazine folder. (Re-filtering the magazine folder moves them back again, even though testing filters suggests this will not happen. Copying messages from both to another folder and re-filtering that folder distributes the messages as expected.) IMAP and TB - hints, tips, recommendations...
I have reason to use IMAP for some accounts. I am aware that there has been considerable discussion relating to IMAP in recent months.
