2007-04-18 Thread Henri Maussang
Hello
I'm new to The Bat! and have already sent several messages including
attachments.
But one gives me problem :
The attachment (video) is pretty big : 3.8 Mb. It stays in the Outbox
for ever.
Is there a limit size for the attachments ?
Thanks
Henri [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Post-Joint : none.

It stays in the outbox until it has been sent. Use View - Show Connection
Center to verify that it really is being sent.

Alice laughed: There's no use trying, she said; one can't believe
impossible things. I daresay you haven't had much practice, said the
Queen. When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why,
sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before
breakfast.

Thank you for your help.
When I say for ever I mean it.
Actually 4 days !
The progress bar is complete (green) in few seconds, but the
connection Center stays on.
Any idea ? Could it be a security trick of Windows Vista ?

This probably means that the sending process is not completing. There
are no specific size limits in TheBat!, but your ISP may apply limits
to either email message sizes or attachment types. Can you send via a
different ISP or via Webmail?

I sometimes have this problem, but have not found a particular cause.
Try opening the message again and then putting it back into the Outbox
before sending. Also have a look at the log (Account|View Log or
ctrl+shift+A) to see if there is an explanation. Is the email address
valid? Have you sent other messages successfully to that address?

Julian

TB has no limit, but an attachment of 3.8 MB gives you a message of
over 5 MB (that's not a TB thing, but a MIME-encoding thing) and 5 MB
is a limit many ISPs use.

This would have been a very good spot to place your signature
delimiter. A signature delimiter or cut sign is dash dash space enter
on a single line.
The cut sign causes that TB will drop anything below it when quoting.
And it's obligatory on list messages, you can easily automate that by
entering it in the templates for this list.
