I can only speak for myself, of course. I have had Gmail from almost
its beginning - perhaps five years ago or so (a guess on my part). I
used POP 3 through July of 2008 and have used Gmail's IMAP option
since then.

Gmail's IMAP has been slowly and steadily improving over the years for
me, and I am presently well satisfied with it. Thunderbird may be the
better (by a small margin) for Gmail's IMAP (I have been using it also),
but TB is a better program, IMHO.

IMAP support is so-so at the moment, but the next beta promises to work on IMAP
so big changes are expected.

You should have no problems pointing to a message base on another partition. I
even managed to run TB! on a WinXP virtual machine, running in Linux, pointing
back to a Windows partition.

To do this, under preferences, select the System option on the left and at the
top you should see Mail Directory. From there you should be able to select the
directory where you are storing your message base.

Hi,

I'm having the opportunity to try out Windows 7

How do I go about synchronizing the XP and 7 TB

Of course. I thought there was some selection offered like "allow only

I need. :)

If UAC is as useless as Danger said, turn it off. You certainly have

Hi, Peter

Thanks for your message. That's the problem. I give my permission

UAC

I've got a prompt saying something like this (I will try to reproduce
it in English because the version I am running is in Portuguese)

"Do you wish to permit the following program to make changes in this
computer?

Program Name TheBat Ritlabs

Local c:\Program Files (x86)\TheBat\thebat.exe

This happens when I start TheBat! If I close TB! and start it again I
get the same prompt, and so on.

Thanks.

When you get that UAC popup, you can click the little arrow for more details.
In there, you can "Allow..." that program access. I don't have access to a Win7
machine right now, but I think it looks something like this:

So, probably I should make a backup from TB! data and folders, remove
TB! from HD and install it again, recovering the backup. By the way
the AV is Kaspersky.

Interesting. Which website was it? But it seems that your AV (which

No. Raising the level just increases the sensitivity. The website you

I'm using the maximum level of UAC in Windows 7. So I installed the
TB! I noticed this detail and reduce the very least the UAC.

When entering a site with information about iPhone and VPN, the
computer was the victim of a Trojan attack that anti-virus picked up
and removed.

I thought that raising the level of UAC I could have avoided this kind
of attack. Whereas the last version of TB! reports to be compatible
with Windows 7 I thought I would have no warning of the need for
authorization.

I noticed this detail when authorization was in the early 30-day free

license registration.

I am using GnuPG. I didn't install the international package of
