VIEW  /  THEMES  but  if you haven't changed it, it is probably set to
default and that is not the isue

Aha!  Sort of confirms what Marek said.  However, if I do
what MFPA suggested and bring up PROPERTIES by
right-clicking on the desktop, then go to the APPEARANCE
tab, it shows that I'm using NORMAL, not LARGE fonts.

In any case, I don't think you should be able to mess up a
program's formatting by changing the OS's display
parameters, Particularly since the previous version of TB!
didn't have this problem.

Theme in Jack's pictures is the default XP theme though (with Large
fonts enabled, but that shouldn't cause the problem he's seeing).

I had serious problems with version 5.0.8 and reverted back to 4.2.44 within a 
matter of hours. 
The message times were up the creek so the mail ticker didn't display new 
messages as they came in and the sorting in thread or sender view didn't work 
at all. Two show stoppers for me, I'm afraid.
