My thanks to those of you who have already responded to my query. As a
precaution I both FORWARDed and REDIRECTed the possibly bogus message to the
credit card company's abuse address.
It didn't dawn on me until I sent my query to the list that I could simply
FORWARD and REDIRECT that

FORWARDing might include the basic headers in the message body whereas
redirecting will contain the full header section. As for "might include
the basic headers" it depends on how you have configured your TheBat!
template-wise.
