Re: Upgrade to new version
Hello Tom, First, buy the version 8 registration key and enter it for your version 7 registration. Version 8 keys are backwards-compatible for version 7 as well. Make sure that The Bat! 7 displays your version 8 key, it should tell in the about box that the registration key is valid until version 8.9. Then, download and install the version 8 .MSI file. Don't uninstall anything. Version 8 will update all the program files and will keep using your data files. If you like to pin The Bat! to the Windows Taskbar, the icon will no longer be valid. To make it survive installations of the new versions, do the following, once. After you have installed version 8, we would recommend you to manually create a shortcut on the desktop to point to C:\Program Files\The Bat!\thebat64(or 32).exe, and then drag this shortcut to the taskbar. -- Best regards, Maxim Masiutin Director Ritlabs, SRL www.ritlabs.com Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Upgrade to new version
Hello Everyone, I notice a new version has come out and wonder what the recommended upgrade procedure is. In the past I sometimes had to move the program to a new pc but in this case I will do the update / upgrade on the same pc. Can I install over the top or is is recommended to uninstall and reinstall? -- Best regards, Tom using TheBat! 4.2.33.9 on Win 7Prof, 64bit Current version is 7.1 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
