Re: Open Ltr to Moderators

2004-03-15 Thread Q179
Hi all,

I signed up for this forum a long time ago using this AOL address. I'd like
to unsubcribe the AOL address and then resubscribe with a special TB address
on my own domain. I know how to subscribe, but not how to unsubscribe.

Will someone be so kind as to provide me a direct link and to the unsubscribe
page along with any necessary instructions?

Most appreciated!

Eddie

spam alert?

2003-10-26 Thread Q179
Hi All,

Just upgraded to 2.01.3 and TB is inserting Spam Alert into the subject
line of some legitimate incoming email.

Why is it doing this and how do I stop or adjust it?

Thanks

the difference?

2003-10-26 Thread Q179
Hi All,

What exactly is the difference between a messages.tbb file and a messages.tbi
file?

Thanks

too many emails

2003-10-25 Thread Q179
Hi All,

I've got TB accessing 5 pop accounts and have over 2,000 email in each
account. This hasn't slowed TB down, but it does slow down my daily off site backup
of TB.

I'd like to archive the older emails so that TB database shrinks a bit. Does
TB have an archive feature and if so what is the best way to use it?

Also...should I be using a third party item like MailBag Assistant from
Fookes ( http://www.fookes.com/mailbag/index.php )? If so, what are the benefits
over straight TB archiving?

Much appreciated!

Re: too many emails

2003-10-25 Thread Q179
Hey Melissa

I've been using Mailbag Assistant for a few years now, and it's great!
MB Assistant has many useful search functions (multiple search
criteria can be run on archives), address and attachment extraction is
very easy, and exporting messages to any of several formats is
possible.

How do you archive with MailBag Assistant? Do you navigate to your TB
database file and then have MailBag Assistant create the archive in the location of
your choice?

If so...would you then go in to TB and manually get rid of the emails you
just archived using MailBag Assistant?

Thanks again!

Re: transferring TB to new PC?

2003-10-22 Thread Q179
Thanks Thomas! Worked like a charm. Thanks to everyone else as well!

Backup (rename) the account.* files. Then create the accounts in TB
and close TB. Now overwrite the newly created account.* files with the
backups and reopen TB. Your Account / Properties setting should be
fine from the backups.

*Now* hit shft-crtl-alt-L.

TB will not find accounts; the key combo above will find only lost
folders of existing accounts.

Thanks Thomas. I tired it, but got a message that read 0 lost folders found.

I don't get it. I've done this trasnfer thing before. Its not the 1st time.
I take each account folder and move it from the backup to inside the Mail
folder on the new PC.

It worked last time. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

You need to copy your laptop's registry key
(hkey_current_user\software\rit) to your PC too, because that is where the
account structure is stored.

Wish I could, but the laptop is long dead. Any other way i can get this
registry key?

Thanks

transferring TB to new PC?

2003-10-17 Thread Q179
Hi All,

My laptop crased and I'm trying to put TB on my new PC...accounts, emails and
all.

I installed the latest trial version of TB on my PC and then copied over the
new Mail folder with my old Mail folder (containing all my emails,
accounts, etc.).

But nothing happened? When I open TB I only see the one test account I had
to set up when installing.

Any suggestions?

Much appreciated!

archiving

2003-07-08 Thread Q179
Hello,

A couple of weeks ago I asked about the best way to archive TB mail. Someone was kind
enough to reply with a third party app that seemed like the best option.

Unfortunately I misplaced the email with the link. Would someone be kind enough to
reply with that link?

Also...I'd like to switch my email address for this mailing list from this crappy AOL
address...to one on my own domain. How can I make the change?

Much appreciated.

Eddie

archive

2003-06-09 Thread Q179
Hello,

I back up the important files on my system via the web daily. My TB files
are taking longer and longer to back up because I get so many emails a day.
Right now for example one of my inbox folders has over 2,000 pieces of mail.

Is there a way to archive these old emails in a for mat that would still be
simple for me to search for and retrieve specific emails later?

Much appreciated.

Eddie
