So, when you *set up* a folder, what properties do you think should
be
used for that new folder? The defaults, perhaps? This will happen for
all new folders, whether you say "Use default..." or not.

The only time you will see a *difference* is when you *change* the
setting for one of the folders which has the "Use default..." switch
set. At this point, all other "Use default..." folders are also
changed.

Nick,

Yeah, I think I didn't explain what I am trying to do. I'm running
a screen size of 1280x1024 and I usually have all of my apps
maximized.
When I view the folders, in the message pane, the columns are "x"
amount of pixels wide. the "x" value is the value I wish to change
by default. My "default" column selection and width is from the
standard TB! installation. What I wish to do is not display the
"size" column and change the default "x" amount for the remaining
columns. For instance, the default "From" column is 100 pixels
wide. I wish to make this column 180 pixelswide as well as increase
the size of the remaining columns. I went to the trouble of changing
all of my existing columns since I couldn't readily find a menu item
to change. I don't want to change a folder each time I add it, I
want to change the defaults.

6G I guess I'll be submitting a request to the wish list...

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

I don't think that there's anything to wish for. It all works as
advertised. New folders are created with the current defaults. All
folders which are set to follow the "Use default.." settings will
change en-masse when just one of them is changed.

What is missing in this scenario?

How should new folders be created, other than with the current default
settings?

Re: ! Filters : why I don't understand ?

Fabio,

It sounds like your filter is looking for the text string in the
message body, not the recipient address. Change the filter to look
for that text string in the recipient address and you should be good
to go.

FC This is not the first time I have some trouble using filters...

BC Go into the Email tab in PGP Options and uncheck "Word wrap

BC That's the reason you're getting funky wrapping in your PGP signed

Marck,

OK, I'm really not seeing your point. I think your definition of a
"default" and my definition of a default are two different
definitions. :-) What is the reference for the defaults? How can
more than one default exist for an individual variable? Which
folder do I use as my reference?

6G Maybe I don't understand you correctly. If I can change the default

6G folder?

All of them! (... that have been told to follow the default) :-).
First set the switches then start making changes to any one of these
"default" folders and the others will follow suit.

Re[2]: Default Column Width

2001-04-03 Thread 60 Gunner

Thomas,

Now, I think I might understand what I was being told, I think. :-)
As for the quotes, if someone signs a message that I'm replying to,
instead of chopping up their message, I tend to keep the signature
in tact. Not always though, sometimes I'll forget. But, if this
list would prefer to keep a message short versus keeping a
signature, then I'll be glad to chop away.

Thanks,

-Chris

BC ...

BC Click once on your account name in the account/folder pane. Right
BC click once on the bar at the top of the columns in your message list
BC window. Adjust them there.

BC Then whenever you create a new folder (or when you right click on the
BC folder and go to properties), put a check mark beside "Use the account
BC default column settings."
