The Bat! 9.3.4 and imap

2021-05-17 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hallo ,

I started using this version of the Bat! a couple of days ago with 2
imap accounts. I must say the Bat! is working not only smooth but
flawlessly. I have not had any problems or errors at all!

2021-05-13 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hello TBUDL,

If I remember well I used the Bat! during versions 2, 3 and 4/5 but then I
left a while. Because of secured email I am back, I hope this version
will suit me like the "old(er) versions did.
But what I immediately noticed was, that there is not much traffic at
the moment. Am I missing something?

Windows or the Bat! setting

2009-09-01 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hello TBUDL,

I am playing a bit with colours and am trying to change the ones for the
top of the account tree (which says Name, Unread and Total). I know how
and where to change the account tree font but can not find how to change
font and color of these Name, Unread and Total.
This also goes for the top names of the message list pane (subject, from
and so on).

It works fine with all other UserID's, though. When I put an older
email address in the From field, TB! flawlessly picks up one of my
disabled keys to do the signing. So, I guess, it gets confused by the
 format of my GSWoT UserID.

After having read Peter's reply, you could try to put your GSWoT UserID to the
front of your keyring
(primary or second). To see if that is a workaround?

using the spacebar to jump to the next unread message

2007-02-12 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hi all,

I don't know if there is a feature request for the following.
I am using the spacebar for reading new unread messages.
With the spacebar you scroll through a message and at the end you jumpt
to the next unread message.
This works fine if there are still (read) messages left in the directory
but when the directory is empty the spacebar does jump to the next
unread message. You have to use f.i. Ctrl+cursor to the right.
IMHO keep on using the spacebar for this is much more intuitive..

If this is not in BT feature request I am willing to do so.

Thunderbird finds more spam messages

2006-06-04 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
As some sort of back up I have Thunderbird 1.5.0.4 (20060516) with
Enigmail 0.94 at hand. Next to the fact that I like the way Thunderbird
handles PGP/GPG, I notice that Thunderbird finds more spam than the Bat!
with Bayes Filter Plugin v2.04

I do not think that it is a matter of training:
Scanned Ham mails 98221
Scanned Spam Mails 1341

Just noticed.

Yes this is what I mean. A key that is in a specific secure server

I have the following in my gpg.conf:

keyserver hkp://pgp.surfnet.nl
keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve
auto-key-locate hkp://pgp.surfnet.nl

When I receive a signed message and that key is not yet on my keyring,

You need to set the 'on exit: remove old messages' option.
The messages need to be set as read, unless you've got the 'purge
unread messages' option set at the account properties.
Over here it has always been working as advertised, though I deleted
when more than 1000 messages in stead of an age.

 It's for my weekly backup.

I have the same problem as you (and Roelof).
What I have done is made templates for English an Dutch nationals and
assigned them to different groups. I have then made Templates with the
language macro setting the language in the template.

...snip

Like Roelof suggested I made a quick template for the Dutch language and
a quick template for the English language.
The only thing I have to do now is type the name of that quick template,
for instance nl. When I hit ctrl-spacebar the language is changed to
that language. When I want to change back to another language I only
have to type the name I have given to that quick template and press
ctrl-spacebar. Piece of cake!

Very nice suggestion, thanks Roelof.

Have you checked you are not bouncing at Yahoo?

Hi Jenny,

I know where to find the bounce history but AFAIK that is for messages
send by Yahoo and not send by me, correct me if I am wrong ;-)

If Yahoo has detected a problem with your mailbox, and it does this
regularly for no apparent reason, then it could set your status to
bouncing, if your mail address is bouncing then you will neither
receive mails, nor be able to send them.

Hi Jenny,

Thanks but that is not the case, status is normal.

encrypting a message with a choosen key

2005-06-08 Thread Henk M. de Bruijn
Hi all,

I am using more than one key. Is it possible to choose a key in a
template to encrypt a message?

%USEPGP%-
%ENCRYPTCOMPLETE%-

If so where do I have to fill in or add that keyID?

TIA

cheers,
Henk

If I read well, the v3.5 Professional knows to encrypt message base. I
did not find this possibility. Could you enlighten me, how can I
 encrypt the message base?

What I did during one of the most recent RC's, and I am sure this can
be done with this release:
I made a backup with The Bat!
I renamed my old The Batdirectory.
I deleted all my the Bat entries in the registry.
I did a new/clean install.
The program asked me about On The Fly Encryption.
After the new install, I copied some directories from my old to my new
The Bat!-directory.
