New email address, same account

2009-10-01 Thread usman x
Hello,
I've had the same email address for quite a few years but am thinking
of getting a new one. My question is: is it possible to have emails
from 2 different email addresses go into the same account?

The reason I am asking is that I conduct a lot of searches through the
text of emails in my account and having to do the same search on two
different accounts will be too tedious.

Thanks for your help,
usman

New Computer

2008-08-20 Thread usman x
Hi ,
I have purchased a new computer to use and have a couple of questions;

1. Is it possible to download the Bat! onto my new computer without
having to purchase an entirely new copy?

2. How do I go about copying the backup archive onto a disc and
installing it on my new computer?

Thanks for any advice you can give,
Usman

printing email list in individual folders

2007-07-22 Thread usman x
Hi everyone,
I am wondering how I can print the list of emails in an individual
folder. there are about 350 emails in this folder and the viewmode is
set to show from subject and received columns. If I select all
the emails and then select print, it prints the contents of all the
emails where as I would just like the titles printed.

thanks,
u

Re: printing email list in individual folders

2007-07-22 Thread usman x
Hi Roelof,

thanks so very much for your help. i was able to create the file like
you advised.

one problem that I am now having is that the filter rule seems to run only
on read messages in the folder. is there any way i can have it apply
for the unread messages as well without having to mark all the
emails in the folder as read?

Also, in the sorting office, the options for creating filters are
under incoming mail, outgoing mail, read mail, and replied
mail. is there any way to create one filter rule that applies to both
read and unread mail?

Re: Strange problem causing question marks in emails

2007-01-23 Thread usman x
Hi, thanks again for replying,

Are your outgoing messages that exhibit this behaviour replies
rather than new messages? If so, is the problem text your own or
quoted from the message you reply to?

The problem isnt really from when i reply to an email. it occurs
either when i save a msg as draft, or save it in my outbox. Upon
opening it again to edit it or send it out, the questions marks are
there. so i cant use the save email option anymore, i have to save the
text in ms word and paste it out again in anew email.

it also happens when ive already sent out an email and want to send
the same email to someone else. in outlook express there used to be a
resend option. but in the bat! i go to sent mail, open the email,
and redirect it. that creates the question marks too. now ive started
to copy the text of the sent email into a new email and that seems to
work, but i still cant use redirect or forward without question
marks appearing.

Odd. If you re-send exactly the same message with no modification
(copy from sent to outbox, perhaps) does that go astray too?

exactly the same one, no changes, and it wont make it through. i know
its not getting through because it doesnt show up on the archives of
the list on the web, and it also doesnt go out to individual
recipients on the list.

ive done virus checks on the computer too and nothings turned up.

please help! i want to be able to save msgs in my outbox and have the
question marks disappear.

Re: Strange problem causing question marks in emails

2007-01-16 Thread usman x
Hi, thanks for replying,

i cant tell what is different about the ones where the question
 marks are caused.

 Different character set?

Whenever i start a new email, its always in plain text micro-ed and
the character set is always latin 9 (ISO). i am using the christams
edition of the bat! pro and windows xp

i've also noticed that theres some emails i recieve from others that
also have the question mark problem. has anyone else noticed this or
had this problem?

Not sure if this is related, by some of my Bat! emails are also not
making it through. They register as sent in my sent mail folder, but
do not get make it to where theyre supposed to be going.

Getting any unable to deliver or similar messages in respect of
the missing mails or they just disappear?

they just dissappear. trying to see what was going on i started
bccing emails to a yahoo account i have. sometimes the email gets to
the yahoo account but not on the list im trying to post to, and i get
no unable to deliver email for that.

 Cut mark missing!!!

oops,

Strange problem causing question marks in emails

2007-01-14 Thread usman x
Hi,

I have been having problems sending emails where question marks appear
replacing things like periods, quotation marks, etc.

The text of the email can appear fine from my end when i send it out,
but on the recieving end the question marks are there.

Also, when i try and redirect an email that ive already sent, it
brings up the question marks on my end before sending it out. This
doesnt happen with every email in my sent mail folder, but i cant
tell what is different about the ones where the question marks are
caused.

Not sure if this is related, by some of my Bat! emails are also not
making it through. They register as sent in my sent mail folder, but
do not get make it to where theyre supposed to be going.

Re[2]: Adjusting Length of lines in Plain Text (Micro Ed)

2006-12-03 Thread usman x
Select one paragraph at a time. When you reply to a message look at
the Utilities menu, make sure auto wrap is on.

From the main TB window go to optionspreferencesviewer/editoreditor
prefs And tell us what is ticked there, and what you have set the
 auto wrap to.

The following are ticked;

Auto Wrap,
Smart Tabs,
Auto Indent,
backspace unintends,
find text at cursor.

ive tried a few different things, from the looks of of it, using alt-l
one paragraph at a time is the only way to edit the text properly. so
thanks again everyone for your help.

ux ps. ive tried to change the signature to the sig limiter you
ux suggested, hope it works better now.

 Nope still broken. try --spacereturn

i noticed that when i did that in plain text (windows) the colour os
the signature change to a light grey, and the font became smaller,
which i think meant that the sig limiter was on. but because ive been
having problems with the text, ive been switching between the plain
text (windows) and (microed), and swicthing to micro ed seems to undo
the sig limiter. but i'll try it again.

Adjusting Length of lines in Plain Text (Micro Ed)

2006-11-30 Thread usman x
Hi folks,
i recently purchsed a copy of the Bat! pro and have been very happy with it,
especially its ability to deal with such a large volume of emails. But here is
one problem id like help with;

i send out emails to various lists where the emails have to be made in plain
text. when i try creating an email in plain text (micro ed) the length of each
line is extremely long, and you have to scroll to the right to read what would
otherwise be a neat paragraph, all visible on the screen without needing to
scroll right.

is there any way i can adjust the length of the lines?

ive tried switching between the micro ed and the windows versions of plain
text. the windows version shortens the length of the lines on the screen, but
then when the emails get posted on the list serv, they still get posted as very
long lines. see for example:
http://lists.econ.utah.edu/pipermail/margins-to-centre/2006-October/000146.html

another problem i have using plain text (windows) is that when i paste and
copy from whatever website into a new email , the line spacing gets lost, so id
much rather be able to use plain text (microed) but not have the lines so super
long.

thanks for anythng you could recommend,
usman

Re[2]: Adjusting Length of lines in Plain Text (Micro Ed)

2006-11-30 Thread usman x
  Options - Preferences - Viewer/Editor - Editor preferences - Wrap text
 at...
  and ... Autowrap on

To reformat lines you can press Alt-L, this wraps according to your
  wrapping settings.

Thank you for replying Roelof,

i tried what you suggested, but this is what happens;

if i paste the text of an article into a new email, and then use alt-L to wrap
the text, all the spacing of the article from the website gets lost, and i end
up with one giant block of text, without paragraph breaks.

is there anyway to bring in the line changes before i paste the text, and set
that as the default length of line so that when i paste something into the
email, it spaces the lines accordingly.

my other option is to paste the text into a plain text (windows) format, but
what is happening is that often, but now always, the line spacing from the
website gets lost, and i have to put in considerable time spacing the
paragraphs again.

thanks again for your help.

ps. ive tried to change the signature to the sig limiter you suggested, hope it
works better now.
