The only way is to use 'stunnel'. The Bat! can't handle the wildcard
hostname [1] in certificates subject (yet). I don't know if this will be
implemented some time, but currently there's no work around but
running stunnel locally, connecting form The Bat! to that stunnel
_unencrypted_ and let stunnel do the rest.

a few days ago they were having problems with one of their incoming
smtp servers. Maybe they have problems now with the pop3s, check their
home page, they announce this kind of things in a text box on the
bottom of the page.

(the pop3 servers are working fine, but you probably know that
already)

i'm ask about POP3S (SSL) not _plain_ POP3, and yes for plain POP3 it work
just fine. but i don't trust my local network.
