I used to use the Watch Thread feature in Agent (when I had time to look at newsgroups), but this was in relation to automatically downloading messages of threads I was interested in, rather than just the headers. In the case of TB, I download all the messages anyway. If we are talking about some additional functionality to the existing filters (perhaps the ability to apply colour groups to threads via the existing Shft-Ctrl-F Create Filter dialogue) then I would find it useful. Re: Watch thread?
Hello Ben, Anyone who wants a watch thread feature in TB!, reply with Aye! I'd rather have first an Ignore feature (just the opposite to Watch). It think it would have more sense for e-mail in general and particularly for mail lists. As Julian says, Watch may have more sense for Usenet newsgroups, where many only download headers and select to Watch (full download) some threads. -- Best regards, Miguel A. Hello Peter! On Friday, June 14, 2002 at 2:25:49 AM you wrote: No, there is not. Depends, if you want to know where a new message has come in, there is - the thread becomes bold. If you want to use it as in Agent - downloading messages automatically and only for a watched thread -, there isn't. But that's not the point for e-mails, they become downloaded automatically and exceptions are made by selective download or filters. So, why the heck should there be an option like the one in Agent? It is superfluous and counter-productive. -- Dierk Haasis http://www.Write4U.de http://Interest.Write4U.de/pongo PGP keys available: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?Subject=SendMyPGPkeys The Bat 1.60q on Windows 95 4.0 1212 C Nur dem nützt das Lob, der den Tadel zu schätzen versteht. Anyone who wants a watch thread feature in BK TB!, reply with Aye! I have a suggestion for compromise: If the Flag could be made so that when used, it would flag any future messages in the same tread, it would solve the watch request without adding a new column. To keep others happy, who don't want it, this feature could activated by a tick mark in the property menu for each account or for each folder. I am not a programmer, but I don't think this would be difficult to build in. If a number of us would agree, we should someway get it to RITLAB suggestion box. I don't know how. -- Best regards, Petermailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v1.60q on Windows 98 4.10 Build 1998 Current Ver: 1.60q FAQ: http://faq.thebat.dutaint.com Unsubscribe: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives : http://tbudl.thebat.dutaint.com Moderators : mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] TBTech List: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Bug Reports: https://bt.ritlabs.com
