Account inbox

2003-10-23 Thread Mogens Holst
We are advised against using the Inbox as a storage folder and instead move the
messages to other folders. That brings up the following question: Is is OK to use
subfolders to the inbox?

I was until I read the admonishment not to use the inbox. So
I have moved those subfolders out as well. Now I just have
to remember where I moved everything laughter.

Hi Mogens,

Their are a number of reasons for not using your inbox as a storage
area, but there is one very functional , typical TB! one. All your msg´s
first arrive in your inbox and are the filed according to filters you
setup.

As a result your inbox file will always be very fragmented and needs
purging and compressing often. As you can see from the above
description this is not a very safe place to keep msg´s you want to
preserve.

Since this is not the ase in any other (sub)folder the answer is yes,
you can use subfolders to the inbox.

Now for the nitty gritty, your cutmark doesn't work. t needs to be
dash-dash-space-return.

Or you could use the %CutHere macro from Andrew Perevodchik plugin.

I think this is a macro that should be standard in TB! considering how
often it needs explaining here in the group.

Totally fine. Just so long as the messages.tbb file of the
inbox isn't very large.

TB treats subfolders of the inbox the same as any other
folder for this purpose.
