Diagnose filter

How can you diagnose a filter? I set up a filter that should filter hundreds of messages, but only got 4. And can you have a filter do nothing? Just run through, counting the messages it applies to? Current Ver: 1.60i FAQ:

My filter is fixed now. I copied the filter from Read to Incoming mail. Even though it isn't Incoming mail. I figured it'd be nice to have some diagnostic for filter functioning, though don't suppose what it would consist of. Current
