Hello MFPA, Any virtual folder watches other folders (and displays messages in those folders that match the filter you have set for the virtual folder). When you click on Specials/Watch Replies In/New Watch Replies Folder, the Dialogue box comes up with the name Chat folder. Since I had never taken any interest in the Watch Replies function until I decided to respond to this thread, and I don't know a thing about chat either, I obviously made a wrong assumption. -- Best regards, Mary The Bat! 3.51 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.51 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Whatever the heck though that it is escapes us at the moment. It all got explained on the TBBETA list. It's about filtering certain incoming mail to a virtual (chat) folder. Click on Specials in your View Folder while you have a message in focus, and look down the menu until you see Watch Replies In. Select it, and to the side you'll see a choice, New Watch Replies Folder. If you click on that, you will get a dialogue to create a new chat folder. After that, I'm lost. There's a way through color groups, I think, to associate certain incoming mails with the new chat folder. People with a lot of business correspondence seem to find it useful. Somebody will turn up here and tell you how to use it, eventually. :) -- Best regards, Mary The Bat! 3.51 on Windows XP 5.1 2600 Service Pack 2 Current version is 3.51 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

It does actually seem like something I will fiddle around with. Like many, I am on numerous lists of varying genre. Sometimes I know I replied to something and am wondering if there will be a continuing thread. Thus, a need for me to interact and either learn more or explain more. So, maybe this will flag those and put them where I can read them .sigh Or I can muck it all up and nearly every email I get will inexplicably be filtered to the trash. -- Bye Now, Robert D. _ The Bat! Hello Robert! It does actually seem like something I will fiddle around with. Like many, I am on numerous lists of varying genre. Sometimes I know I replied to something and am wondering if there will be a continuing thread. Thus, a need for me to interact and either learn more or explain more. Well, I clicked on Create A New Chat Folder, and it actually put one as a subfolder to Sent mail. And, since I used the Specials menu from your message, it moved a copy of your message into it. Evidently, since I didn't select a name for the new folder, it put the default name of TBUDL Virtual Folder. Now, Virtual Folders can be a bit tricky. What you do to the mail in a Virtual Folder happens also to the mail in the Real folder. Keep that in mind. If you delete it in the Virtual folder, it will also be deleted from the Real folder. So, maybe this will flag those and put them where I can read them ... I believe that it will. .sigh Or I can muck it all up and nearly every email I get will inexplicably be filtered to the trash. Oh, I really don't think so! I've never used Virtual Folders, except the Mail Ticker Virtual Folder. But a lot of people swear by them. You can also make a Watch Replies In folder from the Specials menu on The Bat!'s main window.
