I got it! E stands for Encrypted, right? My error was that I didn't rename
them as Messages.EBB/EBN.

It works. Messages with no body still have some header fields visible in the
header list, good.

Maybe Message/View source (F9) should work for no body messages too? It
doesn't, at the moment.

Is there a reason why Message/Copy to folder... doesn't work even when body is
available?

What I really miss since ever is drag and drop of whole folders between
different accounts. Migrating a folder tree to a different account with TB has
always been a pain in the ass.

Thank you.

Yeah, if connection with the server cannot be established, you need to operate
manually - it is possible copy .TBB and .TBN files of an IMAP
folder as Message.TBB and Messages.TBN of a local folder - they have the same
format. The only problem that could occur is absence of downloaded message body
or attachments...

Moving messages from a local database of an expired IMAP account to folders in a different account

2022-06-08 Thread Luca via TBUDL

I have an expired IMAP account with lots of messages in the local database. It
seems that I cannot move or copy any message to a folder in a different
account. The command "Message/Copy to folder..." doesn't work.

I can export/import messages via unix mailboxes actually, but is there a
quicker way?

I would like to use the database files directly with a different account, but
I don't know if that's possible.

Tnx.

I assume it will not work with IMAP accounts, which you seem to be
using. But with POP, all you have to do is on 'Folder' top menu,
select "Browse Deleted Messages". All "deleted" (marked for deletion)
messages will appear striked-through, which you can select and
'Undelete' from context menu. But, as I say, I don't think this will
work for IMAP, sorry.

Moving messages

2012-10-08 Thread Thomas Fernandez
Hello Tbudl (and cross-posting to TBBETA, as that's where the
developers read - I think),

I just did my quarterly clean-up, which involves moving all company
messages from the previous quarter to an archive folder. Today, this
was about 14,000 messages with just over 2.5GB.

In previous TB! versions (up to v4) this took a long time, during which
TB! is blocked. The "Moving messages" dialog was up front and did not
allow me to do anything within TB!.

Today (with v5) it was different. There was no dialog and I thought
nothing was happening, but my CPU-busy dial and my Memory-in-use dial
(some Windows sidebar gadgets) said something was being done. Hm I
thought, let's give it some time. I went to other accounts within TB!
and read emails, all without problem.

At one time I saw that the newly-created archive folder now showed
almost 14,000 messages. I checked and yes, those were the messages
from Q3 that I had moved.

I very much appreciate that we can now continue working while TB! is
moving messages. At this number of message and amount of data, it does
take a few minutes, which I had to sit idle in front of the computer
in previous versions.

I think that positive things have to be said sometimes too: Well done,
Ritlabs.

Thomas.

moving messages

2007-03-01 Thread Tom

Hello Everyone,

I regularly clean out my inbox and transfer the accumulated emails to
other folders.
I noticed that recently while the process works fine, the little
pop-up box "moving messages" with the bar showing the process seems to
get stuck somewhere around 80%. My impression is that the transfer
goes through and all emails are transferred but the box freezes as
though it is still processing.
Any ideas?

The reminder of the scheduler works, but the action did not start.

I never tried it, but upon looking in the scheduler, I found a
're-filter action'. It enables you to pick specific filters and
specific folders to use.
Make it a repeating task and you might be satisfied.

Automatic moving messages to archive folder

2005-07-28 Thread Thorvald Neumann
Hæ!

I am wondering if it is somehow possible to have TB automatically use
filters to move parked messages to an archive folder.

I have a couple of mailinglist folders where I park interesting
messages for further reference. I have a few manual read-filters for
these folders, moving parked messages older than 10 days to the
specific archive.

Would these filters do the same when I remove the "manual" tag?

And would it be possible to create a one filter doing the same for all
folders?

Moving Messages to Unsubscribed IMAP Folders?

2004-06-23 Thread Rocky Giannini
Hello All,

I am a long-time Bat follower (probably 3 or 4 years), but have only
recently taken the plunge and registered the program because of the
advances made with IMAP support -- I use IMAP exclusively because I need
to be able to read my mail from several different PCs/Unix systems, etc.

In my account, I have subscribed to many IMAP folders that I regularly
access. However, there are times when I need to move messages to
folders that I don't need to regularly access, and are therefore
unsubscribed.

Does The Bat! provide a way to move messages to unsubscribed IMAP
folders? Hitting [CTRL]v while reading a message only lists subscribed
folders. It would be nice if there was a way to list subscribed as
well as unsubscribed folders (similar to what you see in the "Manage
IMAP Folders" window.

Thanks in advance for any hints.

-Rocky

BTW How did you manage so many empty lines between your signature and

BTW2 I'm using Januk's 'Initials' QT from the repository to generate
initials, it works without problems except for messages to Nick,
anybody any idea why that it gives me Nick's full name?

Moving messages (ctrl-V)

2004-04-01 Thread Nick Dutton
Hello,

I am forever using ctrl-V to move messages out of my inbox and am
finding that as there is more and more ambiguity (and duplication) in
the folder names TB will stop at the first match, not the one that I
want. Then it's a grab for the mouse to find the next occurrence.

I realise that this is a failing of my filing system, but has anyone
found a way that I can jump to the next match using the keyboard?

Ta,

This little hint also applies to the folder tree window in the main
viewer as well (in case you hadn't randomly tried in there too). Just
make sure you have the window selected first.

filing/moving messages

2003-09-30 Thread ken green
This may be public knowledge, but I just discovered this today.

I get tons of e-mail and spend time going back through my Inbox filing
and deleting when I can. I use the Ctrl + V shortcut a lot, which
brings up the "move message(s) to..." dialog window.

For a long time, I used either the scroll bar or arrow keys to get to
the folder I needed to file the message. Sometimes, I would enter the
first letter of the folder I needed, and this speeded things up a bit.

But I have a lot of folders, and many start with the same letter, so
this wasn't always the best method. But today, on a whim, I typed more
than one letter - just started typing the folder name - and BAM! there's
the folder I want. Not sure why I was convinced I could only type one
letter. This searching method (similar to Quick Search) works for
browsing the folder list as well.

Maybe I'm the last one here to figure it out, but I sure was happy today
to discover this "new" feature. TB continues to make my life easier.
Now, if only I'd quit making it harder...

Edit shortcuts did the trick. I had a rather fresh install on my
system so I am pretty sure that the default setting is "no shortcut
key for this function."

Hmmm...its on the "Message" drop-down menu - it says "Move to
folder...F12".

Ah, I just played with it & changed it to F10. Now it says "Move to
folder...F10". I never knew the menus changed to follow your shortcut
edits - cool :-)

Anyway, if it's a shortcut someone wants, it's an easy thing to make -

Hi there,

I often read new e-mails in full screen view and would like to move

using Message|move to folder.

Is there an easier way to do this, like adding a button to the toolbar
or assigning a shortcut to the function?

Thanks very much, it works perfectly. The problem is that there is no documentation
about that in the help files. I suspect I lost many messages because I
copied only messages in the first "layer" and then deleted the source
folder. This newsgroup is a real blessing.

I guess you view this folder threaded, right?

If this is a case, a simple Ctrl+A would select only the first "layer"
of the messages. Try to first expand all threads with Ctrl+Num*, and
the select them with Ctrl+A!

Copying or moving messages

2001-02-23 Thread jlaikan

Hello All,
In a folder I have 904 messages. When I
tried to copy all messages to another
folder, only 206 are copied. Same thing
when I tried to move them all to another
folder (select all messagesand from
Message menu / Copy to folder) only
some are moved. I had to repeat the
action several times to move all
messages. Is there a reason for this? I
have the Bat! V1.49.

Use right-click menu for the messages selected (and threads, too) -
there is a thread submenu there. Move to - this is the menu item you
need.

Moving Messages in Thread-View

1999-09-30 Thread Martin Posch

Hellihallo to all from Austria,

After a long Time of just reviving and not reading messages I started
 to clean up my Folders.
 For every Folder of a Mailing-List I made an Archive-Folder where I
collect interesting Message-Threads. But If I am in the Thread-view
of the bat an I want to move a complete thread, I have to expand it
completely, before I am able to move it. If I don't do this, only the
 Top-Level-Message is moved.

I made this accidently with the Bat-List (It had about 1200 Messages)
and wanted to copy all the Messages out of the thread-view. The Bat
moved only 250 (Top-Level) Messages and crashed. Seems not only to be
a wanted feature but also a bug.

 Grusserl,Greetings,

(Sorry for bad English, practise is missing)

 Martin
