Propagating to Usenet is something we'll *never* do. It's simply too
insecure. Take a look at the list footers tbudl information page for
details on that point. If there's to be a usenet group, it would have
to be separate and independent of this mailing list.

Doesn't GMane have that they'll start feeding gmane.* hierarchy to other

Yes, and with the security steps they employ and the advice we now
give regarding Message ID domain fudging, posts distributed via
GMane are completely safe. So I have no fears at all about gmane
opening up their feeds.

I've found a solution: I created a new freemail address for TBUDL and

Hi all,

I signed up for this forum a long time ago using this AOL address. I'd like
to unsubcribe the AOL address and then resubscribe with a special TB address
on my own domain. I know how to subscribe, but not how to unsubscribe.

Will someone be so kind as to provide me a direct link and to the unsubscribe
page along with any necessary instructions?

Most appreciated!

Eddie

We did. The address of the instructions is on (or attached to in
this case) every message in the list.

Since I just unsubscribed in order to re-subscribe with this address,
I can tell you it's easy:

Highlight any message in the list. Go to Specials / Mailing Lists /
Unsubscribe. Click on it, and send the resulting email.

You will get an email back that asks your to confirm your
unsubscription. All you have to do is high Reply and send the message.

You will get a confirmation that your are unsubscribed. Voila.

Now, here is a beauty: alt-drag your TBUDL folder from the old account
right into the new account. All the threads will be contained, and new
messages will thread fine into them!

But of course, you will have to create a new filter for TBUDL in that
account. Go to the TBUDL filter in the old account, and right-click on
it while you are in the filter list. Choose Copy.

Then open the Sorting Office in the new account, open the Incoming
filters and right-click so you can choose Paste. The filter with all
its intrinsic details will be ready to serve you.

This may be more detailled than you ask for, but others may have the
same idea.

Long as you've made the username part sufficiently complex as to avoid
accidental random hits.

Something like TBx84374ndms etc.

Otherwise you'll have a false positive. When I created my daughter's
domain name and set the catchall e-mail address to dump into my home
mailbox, I received spam on it in less than 48 hours, and there aren't
any real mail addresses on it, nor have any been used. (i.e. I never
used an e-mail address from her domain).

Well, you see my email address. I don't think there will be a random
hit.

New domain names can be looked up by bots, and it is easy to just put
something in front, which will be caught by the catch-all.

LG and there aren't any real mail addresses on it, nor have any been

Bots routinely search whois databases. Well, they are on the net,
aren't they?

f'up2tbot... well, I haven't registered this address with TBOT. :-(
