I can live with that limitation, since my primary need is to be able to remember what the program I have recently downloaded does. However, if anyone out there has found a way to save the data, I would like to know about that. I did notice that I don't have the same properties screens available for *.zip and *.pdf files as I do for *.exe files. Super! I actually checked to make sure that it could actually be done. I discovered that my file manager Directory Opus can be made to display that column as well. I didn't really use the feature because I wasn't sure that Directory Opus could display the information. It can, so my thanks to you for bringing it up! :) -- -= Allie =- . I've written an app (in C#) which extends the Explorer context menu so that you can keep file notes in an Access database. Only problem is now that I've got it working I rarely remember it's there - and it needs unique file names to work. What I'd really like to see though is for the OS to provide some way to enter a narrative description of each DL as metadata so that I could enter a paragraph of information about each thing I download and what motivated me to do so. There are some programs, I know, like Total Commander for example, that provide the option to enter a one-line description, but that's not quite the same thing. After getting the e-mail from Ritlabs announcing the availability of 3.01, I went to the download page and discovered that even though the page shows the size of each version of The Bat!, what I actually get when downloading the home edition is a tiny .msi file and NOT the actual program itself! Since I am not, in any sense, an early-adopter (see my sig :-) ), I would like to be able to store the actual version of any program I am installing so that I do not have to rely on Ritlabs to maintain the current version on their website for the benefit of the installer stub.
