Congratulations Avram, I'm glad you solved it so easily. It's just as well as I
just noticed that I mixed up right-click and left-click in my instructions. I'm
sure you would have realized it but I hate making stupid mistakes.

I solved this problem myself: I right-clicked on the existing task bar icon to
delete it. After deleting it, the correct The Bat icon popped up in its
place!! Magic!

I can't explain why what happened, happened. But, it now works.

Thank to all with their suggestions.

If I assume you're running Windows 10 then thebat.exe can be found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\The Bat!\TheBat.exe.

Once you've found it, right-click on it to select it then left-click on it to
bring up the context menu where you'll find the create shortcut option.

The only idea I have is to find the Bat! exe file, right click it and choose
the option "Pin to Taskbar", if you have that option.

That would be too easy.  I don't have a shortcut on my desktop.

Do you have a shortcut on your Desktop? If so, delete the shortcut on the
taskbar and just drag the shortcut from the Desktop top the taskar.

generic icon appears in place of The Bat icon in task bar

2022-03-08 Thread Achdut18
Hi,

I just updated to ver.5.1.1.  After updating the The Bat image icon disappeared
from the task bar.  I thought that by right-clicking on the generic icon and
then right-cliicking on "The Bat" appliaction and then on "properties" I could
fix the problem by clicking on "change icon" and browse for the .ico file,
which was in the root directory for The Bat.  However, that merely changed the
image that appears in the properties shortcut window tab.  I have rebooted
several times, but that doesn't help.    Any ideas as to how I can fix this?
