Re: msg header as list column

Guten Morgen,

... just in case anyone is interested in how this turned out: I
amended the original idea and created two "virtual folders" beneath my
spam folder:

"to_me": filter "if recipient contains "
"to_other": filter "if recipient does-not contain "

This narrows down my daily spam quite considerably. Today's yield:

"to_me": 4 messages (these are mostly newsletters and similar that are
legitimate in principle, but unwanted nevertheless)

"to_other": 39 messages (true spam - delete without looking)

Nice! :-)

The BCC field should be empty or not present in incoming messages. (The
presence of an empty BCC field may possibly indicate the message was
addressed to BCC recipients, but its absence does not indicate there
were none.)

Yes. The options are there, so it should work.

That's a great idea! Even better than what I had in mind. I will try
to implement a logic like this:

if [one of my emails] is in envelope-to
and
not [one of my emails] is in (to or cc or bcc)
then
set priority to low

This should be possible, shouldn't it? I don't even need the MEMO
field then - all I wanted was a way to distinguish spam between
unimportant and really unimportant.

Super, thanks everyone!

I think MAU is right, you cannot add Envelope-To as a column.

Maybe you could do something like define a view mode for each account
(with the filter as something like "Header Field 'envelope-to'
contains '[string to identify account]'"). Having defined the view
mode, you could set it up as a message list tab.

Or maybe you could define an incoming message filter that detected the
Envelope-to header and ...

Something like:-

Filter: Header contains 'envelope-to'
Action: Set Memo to %HEADER(envelope-to)

(Memo is one of the available message list columns.)

Hello Alto,

No, I think there is no way. The columns in the message list and their
order are selected when defining a View Mode, and the the list of
possible columns to select seem to be fixed.
