As much as I like a PMX challenge, I can't see how to get BOTH the desired notation and MIDI output with a single PMX file alone without in-line TeX. I bet Andre can see how to get the right MIDI output but with the wrong notation; and Christian's abcpp suggestion could then give the desired

Thank you very much, Don and Christian for your help and comments I don't know about 'abcpp', but i will look at it. Perhaps an other possibility is to use the same note in 2 voices (ie replace the 'rb2' in the example by 'd2+u')? Will the midi sound harder then? Andre
