Dr. Holsinger was a student of Dr. Barr, at UKY. They visited one of my high school caves, Lisanby Cave in west KY. The first time I met Dr. Holsinger I told him we snuck in the cave. He said go up and meet Mrs. Lisanby as she is a very nice lady. From then on we did that for all cave owners.

This is indeed sad news Dr Holsinger was a friend of many many Texas cavers. He was the expert who worked on amphipods. As a fledgling cave biologist he was the first specialist who I sent specimens to for ID. 1974 The Great Mud Cave in Williamson county. He did the pioneering work on
