How could I adjust the ViewTemplate so that to the left of the toolbar I could have a separate list of buttons that have different CSS properties than the toolbar itself? Since I don't know what I am doing, in all my NoteStorm creations I have had to leave the new note buttons the same color

This does indeed sound like a known problem: viewing an HTML file from Dropbox via an http URL doesn't always correctly detect the character set of the document. On a desktop browser you can use the browser menu to override the character encoding to UTF-8, which will make it display correctly. It
