Mervin, I am sure its being done before and can be done. Let us see if someone responds. Adding numbers to a field in each tiddler, then display it with the tiddler in the TOC macro could work but it would be very manual. Building in dynamically allocated numbers during the list process would

Kelsang, It is not clear to be where you are at this point in time but if this is a fresh start New Tiddler and call it "The first ground, Very Joyful" Tag it with TableOfContents Now use the new Here Button twice to create (note no numbers) - Introduction to the first ground -
