Hello to everyone,
I'm trying to find a way to switch users. Once I entered credentials I
can't make authentication dialog display again.
Can anyone please suggest a solution to switch users? Preferably some icon
in page toolbar that will open credentials dialog.
Thanks!

How to display a link using a URL stored in a field? I'm thinking something
like this, except it doesn't work: ``

You can use the full HTML syntax, like this
Link Text
If you find it more convenient, you can put this is a macro
\define field_link(text)

<>
Both examples assume you have a field called 'field' that contains the link
address. The target="blank" is optional.

*Use Case:* A button set-up for writing plain text Tweets (tweetButton).
Should be auto-enumerating.The button below works. I based it on The
Journal Button. There is ONE issue. Though it produces on-click a new
Tiddler titled "Tweet", with the tag "tweet", and the content type
Thanks Arlen
I will revisit that because I had eliminated is from the combinatorial
complexity, possibly not realising the difference between $(constantname)$
and <>

I think it would be helpful to see an ordered list with Step 1, Step 2, etc.

Here is the documentation for the set widget
http://tiddlywiki.com/#SetWidget
And you use it like
<$set name="constantname" value=((!!field}}>
Then all the child elements of the tag (think xml), will have that variable
available to them. In a macro you can also use $(constantname)$ as a
Thanks Mark,
All working as advertised, it will be very helpful, thanks alot. Sometimes
it seems like an art not a science :), You make me recall I learned to
avoid cut and Paste from google groups in the Early TiddleyWiki Clasic
days. Evan pasting into notepad on the way.
Thanks for working
Hi Josiah,
Did you try "action-createtiddler" with the $basetitle attribute, rather
than "tm-new-tiddler"? http://tiddlywiki.com/#ActionCreateTiddlerWidget

Areln,
Confirmed working, with the placement of the like Marks at
the end of the tiddler with all calls to subtiddlers in the "content" of
the set statement.

Ciao Stef
Unfortunately neither version works for me. They open a new tiddler for
editing but the Title is blank :-(

Thanks for the info everyone.
Now that i understand it better, i'm using these almost like constants.
rather than having each macro have to determine what the data tiddler, and
state tiddler is i define them once via the macros.
and i am finding that being able to reference the values inside
Tiddler titles with spaces may either be surrounded with quotes or double
square brackets, depending on your needs.

Well, must admit that I didn't try using this as a sidebar button. Try
replacing both

Ok, to make the following work, I made some changes to your en-Cat entry.
It looks like:
caption: Cat
changecount: 5
tags: english Mammal
taijin: chun kaŋi
title: en-cat
type: text/vnd.tiddlywiki
;Cat: {{nya{chun}}}
So I added a caption field (Cat), and a taijin (I don't know

Richard,
TiddlyWiki seems quite capable of displaying external media but it seems to
me a second class citizen compared to drag drop and import. Have you heard
of a mechanism to Drag and Drop but only create external links? Allowing a
relative link such as .\images would allow the tiddlywiki
Hi Herb,
Tiddlywiki can be used to generate a static website where each page is in
its own file. This is advantageous for the reasons you state and several
others. There are basic instructions
available
http://tiddlywiki.com/static/Generating%2520Static%2520Sites%2520with%2520TiddlyWiki.html
Additional thought,
On the Import page that appears after drag and drop allow a button to
import external links only. Create tiddlers with the external links.
Just dreaming

I should add that the issue of 'externalising' images to reduce the page
size is a separate, but related issue, and there are pretty good solutions
for managing that too.

Hi Josiah,
You could try something like this:
\define tweetButton()
<$button tooltip= aria-label= class=<>>
<$action-createtiddler $basetitle="$(tweetTitleTemplate)$" type="text/plain"

Hi everyone,
I am a new user of TiddlyWiki and I would like to know if the blog
functionality of TiddlyWiki may optionally allow the creation of multiple

which TiddlyWiki is founded, but I think that there may be major
As an addition to my previous post: when I said "the creation of multiple

TiddlyWiki file into several inter-related sub-files, each one for a major
section of the blog (in case the blog has a very articulated and complex
This looks like a good effort, I have a different project in mind but
similar requirements. I'm still struggling to understand how to make a
basic plugin, however I was thinking a modification of TiddlyDesktop would
be a good way to implement an API for local access?
I'm assuming it's open
