D3 Project Actions are Unfiled, and Last Actions Become Next Actions
I don't know if this is the right place to report bugs, but here goes. I'm using D3 version 1.3.0. 1) Whenever I save a new action for a project, I give it a tag by erasing unfiled from the bottom field, and adding the context (prefaced with an @). However, if I click the Edit button on the project, the actions show up like this: gtdAction Action number 1 unfiled gtdAction Action number 2 unfiled gtdAction Action number 3 unfiled So, although I've given them a context, and they behave normally (they show up in listings with that context, etc.), when I click on Edit for the project they show up as unfiled. Well, that's no big deal. Except for how it pertains to the second bug... 2) I said the actions behave normally, but there is one very odd exception. Sometimes, the *last* action in a project will be next, instead of the first. This seems to be related, somehow, with actions that have numbers in the title. For instance, say I have a project called Beat Castlevania, with actions Beat level 4, Beat level 5, and Beat level 6. The last one, Beat level 6 will be the next action, instead of Beat level 4. I also tried creating the actions in reverse order, e.g. Level 5 first, Level 4 second, and so on. The action with the highest number is still the next action (Level 5). However, having a larger number before the last action doesn't change things. So, in the first example, if Beat level 5 were Beat level 500, Beat level 6 would still be the next action. Note, though, that the last action itself doesn't have to have a number in it. Here's how I think it works: if numbers are ascending, then the *last* action will be next; if they are descending, the *first* action will be next. I haven't seen any with next actions in the middle of the list. Here's what fixes it, though...if I go into the project and replace unfiled with the context for each action, then the project behaves normally, with the top action being the next action! To test, create this project with the following actions: Project: Picking up chickens Get 1 chicken @work Get 2 chickens @work Get 3 chickens @work Build a chicken coop @work When you're done, hit F5 to reload. Click on the @work context to open it. Build a chicken coop will be the next action. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups GTD TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: Is there any way to grab RSS-messages with TW and put them into tiddlers?
Hi Skye Would it be possible to automate this process. Having the options (feed type, url...) etc set (in a systemConfig tiddler for example) and have the TW automatically read in new feeds every so often - each 3 minutes...or maybe everytime the display is refreshedmy thinking is along the lines of a simples alternative to RippleRap.for shared notetaking for example.. Well...the RSSadaptor is for importing the content...but when you mention automatic read and notetaking, you might be interested in my dropbox experiment (Alex and I have tested this on a private dropbox folder...but also a public version is available) Check this post (and join in so we can test together): http://groups.google.com/group/tiddlywiki/browse_thread/thread/374e22944fa31c70# Bauwe -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] shared pool of tags for multiple TWs
I've got a group of separate documents with a set of common tags. As the number of tags and documents has grown, the work involved in maintaining consistency among them has now become pretty burdensome, up to about 900 tags in a hierarchy/network, most branches between four and eight levels deep. I'd also like to be able to import/export tiddlers - with their tags intact, so it's become more critical that the different files are truly 100% consistent. In doing manual importing/exporting, I've found that it's very easy to create nearly duplicate tag tiddlers, and the hierarchy/network relationships get all messed up. Is there a way for me to have one TW act as the master file for the tagging hierarchy, and for the content files to transparently and dynamically load the tags from that master? I'm envisioning the tiddler contents of the master file would simply be a glossary explaining the tag's term, pointing out distinctions between this one and other related ones with perhaps some cross- linking. Any suggestions would be most welcome. . . -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. [tw] Re: shared pool of tags for multiple TWs
Thanks Julian. Sorry I wasn't more clear. How about having a set of tiddlers named after the tag and tagged with the name: Tiddler Title = tag1 Tags = tag1 excludeLists Yes the tags are tiddlers already - if there's another way to organize tags into a complex hierarchy as I described, I'd like to know about it. And list visibility isn't an issue, with thousands of tiddlers in addition to the 900+ tagging ones, I'm not using the sidebar for navigation much 8-) You could then either just use the normal import tiddlers tools to import the tag tiddlers from a central, common source. This would work if the list doesn't change too much (since adding/deleting would be manual) updates would be handled via the normal sync process. Sorry, what normal sync process? And define too much - every once in a while I refactor say 30% of the hierarchy, and I want all the child TW's to reflect the new structure of the master without having to manually keep them in sync as I'm doing now. Alternatively, you could use Erics external tiddler tools (see Cool! Looks like just the ticket, as long as the tiddlers come in with their tags intact - I'll check it out! For future googlers - http://tiddlytools.com/#ExternalTiddlersPluginInfo sync the common tags TW file between users computers - you might use Dropbox or some other mechanism for this. No need to keep the hierarchy in sync once the files have been published, and I'm the only author at the moment. [tw] story.switchtheme problem

[tw] Re: story.switchtheme problem
Hi UnclePhil, story.switchTheme(config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme); doesn't seem to have a return value, so it is undefined I have an idea, for some testing. there must be something in (...) which causes the problem. I am not 100% sure, but config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme is TW internally handled as a cookie. And it may be modified by the core, if you progammatically do some browser refresh. You could try to use config.options.t_e_xtCouchLogoutTheme just for testing, and have a look if it works. just a guess. -m On Jun 16, 6:30 pm, UnclePhil koenigp...@gmail.com wrote: Hi everybody, I'm searching a solution for the following problem if somewhere in a plugin i use story.switchTheme(PortalTheme); The TW display is changing correctly if , for configuration purpose, i use config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme=PortalTheme; (...) story.switchTheme(config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme); This is not working If i check the variable with Chrome javascript console config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme is correctly set, but the evaluation of story.switchTheme(config.options.txtCouchLogoutTheme) return undefined Many thanks' in advance for your help Ph Koenig - UnclePhil - -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups TiddlyWiki group. You can also try MasterIncludesPlugin [1]. It is made for shared settings but actually all the settings are tiddlers, so presumably it allows to achieve what do you want. [tw] Re: Is there any way to grab RSS-messages with TW and put them into tiddlers?
Aha, that's interesting. I'll try this; though, I'd say that a refresh button instead of backtage and ability to read the content before import (so that you can skip import of unimportant news) would be proper approach for newshub. Then if it's possible to use TiddlerTweakerPlugin [1] so that the content of the currently chosen tiddler is shown below the tweaker, this will be already decent tool for managing news. I'm going to ask Eric later. Though, for perfect work imported tiddlers should be marked with tags based on the RSS-source. Like news for all imported, or sports for those imported from some sport news site. Anyway, thanks for the links and thanks Jon for the adaptor. Thanks, choices are good. I noticed this references to another of Eric's: http://www.tiddlytools.com/#LoadTiddlersPlugin http://www.tiddlytools.com/#ExternalTiddlersPlugin Can anyone comment on pro's and con's between the two? (or masterinclude's for that matter) It seems to me that the latter requires the child TW to be pre- populated with (in my case) 900+ tiddlers with unique macro code in each calling its content from the master, while the former will do a bulk import/update into a blank target based on tiddlers with a certain tag in the source TW. If so my testing will start with that one 8-) And of course I'll report back here. . . On Jun 17, 4:40 am, Yakov yakov.litvin.publi...@gmail.com wrote: You can also try MasterIncludesPlugin [1]. Indeed. For your purposes, ExternalTiddlersPlugin would *not* be the right fit. That plugin allows you to keep content in other TWs AND/OR external text files, and then *render* that content via the tiddler macro by using an external file/URL reference instead of a local tiddler title reference. Note: content loaded in this fashion does NOT pull in tags or custom field values from the external document. Only the tiddler *text* content is accessed. In contrast, LoadTiddlersPlugin is an importer. It pulls tiddler content from other TW documents and adds them to the current document. Once imported, those tiddlers are full participants in all the local TW functionality, and include all their tags, custom fields, create/modification dates, author info, etc. If you also install TemporaryTiddlersPlugin, then you can have LoadTiddlersPlugin automatically add the temporary tag to the imported tiddlers, so that they will NOT be stored in the local file when that file is saved. enjoy, -e Eric Shulman TiddlyTools / ELS Design Studios -- Was this answer useful?
