As per other threads the last no cat on a ball version is required on FF
for Android because you cant access the cat.

On 1st opening you are asked to accept it can write.

Then we get the above message on save.

I think FF51 was the end of the road for TF1. For TF2, you know to look for
the kitty-on-a-ball icon, right?

This is why I'm always so reluctant to upgrade.

[tw] TiddlyWiki on Android (again) great for adhoc applications (TiddlyFox)

2017-07-02 Thread TonyM
All,

Building small apps in TW5 and placing them on Android is a brilliant use
case. I just built one to record medications and diet records on my desktop
and now porting it to the phone.

I am experiencing a fault in this configuration and was surprised on
searching not to see a lot of discussion about this configuration, I
assumed many of us would be doing this.

If anyone can provide some guidance I would appreciate it.

*My Current problem*
Currently the autosave fails with this message, but then reports Wiki Saved
(but it has not)

This suggests tiddlyfox is involved.

Regards
Tony

*This is my configuration*
I am using the N-1 TiddlyFox 1,0alpha18.1 as you can not access the
interface in FireFox for Android on the latest TiddlyFox, I am using a
FireFox Bookmark to access the tiddlyWiki at an address as follows
file:///storage/3162-6431/Android/data/com.synology.dscloud/files/localinstances/CDMLog.html

which is maintained by the cloud sync app on my Synology NAS

I have the latest FireFox app v 54.0.1

The FireFox app seems to have full access to this location which I believe
is on the SD Card

I am using an LG V20 Smart phone with android 7.0

Hi Siniy,
this seems to be very practical, and it looks very neat like all your
stuff...
It is a little harder to see what happens and reverseEngeneer it in a
russian wiki...does it wor with tags or lists or both?
There is no need to avoid the Tinka-Plugin-Manager. It is so easy and
comfortable that once you started you will want to turn everything into
a plugin;-)

D'oh.

I forgot that you can get the result you want by nesting two list widgets,
like:

<$list filter="[field:vehiclesort[]]">
<$view field="vehicle"/> - <$view field="title"/>

[tw] Re: multiple sorts in andtidwiki

2017-07-02 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki
The sort[] filter is underpinned by the javascript sort() function, which
is not guaranteed to be stable. That is, each time a sort is encountered it
can just grab the array however it wants, ignoring the original sort order.

One work-around would be to make a field, e.g. "sortby", that concatenates
the vehicle name and the title field. A button could run a with
to set this field for you automatically rather than
populating by hand. Then just sort by the sortby field. You could have
multiple sortby fields (e.g. sortbyVehicleOwner) for different ways you
want to sort.

This is neat. The lack of any kind of ability to do basic arithmetic is the
biggest hindrance I've had so far in TW5. I rolled my own solution but it
is not without its own shortcomings.

You can probably add support for % (modulus) without too much trouble. Will
give this a go next time I have the time to fiddle with my TW5 project.
Bookmarked.

[tw] Re: Hide groups of fields in the EditTemplate based on prefix?

2017-07-02 Thread Joshua Fontany
Hi Mat,

That is a really neat solution!

I am doing something similar with tagging to allow a centralized View and
Edit Template tiddler to dynamically transclude the appropriate View and
Edit templates for each of my "CampaignWiki Tiddler Types" : Player,
Character, Company, Faction, Location, Item, etc. So I immediately saw what
you were doing, NEAT.

I will definitely post my wiki up once I have some of the base category
sheets worked out. Working on Players and Characters first. I intend to
seperate the Campaign-logic from the rule-set logic, so Character tiddlers
can have multiple ruleset's stats (ed4.strength, ed4.dexterity,
ed4.toughness d, d, D), and
have a tabbed system that allows you to flip through those if you have
multiple rulesets "installed". That is a ways down the todo-list, but I
have to lay the foundation first.

And this really helped. Thanks!

[tw] multiple sorts in andtidwiki

2017-07-02 Thread StephanF
Hi everybody!
I pass this parameter filter:[tag[jrnl_veh]sort[title]sort[vehicle]] to
a macro to list all tiddlers tagged jrnl_veh sorted by title within vehicle
(a field defined in these tiddlers). In Firefox on a Windows 8.1 box it
works just as it should. In andtidwiki on a samsung tablet it results in a
list properly sorted by title within the first vehicle, but in random (or
at least not sorted) title order within the second vehicle. It must be
sorting the titles in the first vehicle since the tiddlers were not entered
in the desired order (it is a journal style title with a -mm-dd date).

How can this be? If the browser is just hosting/displaying, how can a sort
be affected. The only explanation I can think of is the javascript engine
in andtidwiki doesnt work precisely like the one in Firefox. Are there any
other examples of this sort of thing? Is there a different way I could do
the sort so that it works properly in andtidwiki?

Thanks in advance for any and all help and advice :)
Stephan

[tw] Re: [TW5] Windows Desktop Interactive TiddlyWiki 5

2017-07-02 Thread TonyM
An update on executing Windows OS commands from within tiddlywiki

I have a reasonable solution, which could be improved upon

I managed to create a custom exporter using copies of the following tiddlers

$:/core/templates/exporters/TidFile

$:/language/Exporters/TidFile

$:/core/templates/tid-tiddler

The custom exporter exports the command and parameter fields only from a
custom tiddler to a custom file type/extension

When I want to execute a documented command tiddler I use the toolbar
export option and select as type "command" (my name). This will prompt me
to save this "tiddler" or command.

As I always save downloads in a fixed folder and they go there.

I have a looping batch file that looks for the appearance of these files in
the download directory (I will run it when I have a command to execute the
first time), the batchfile moves them to a folder and runs the command in
the command shell, then deletes them.

I can even open notepad on the hosts file, or run applications not known by
firefox. Using the start commend I can leverage all windows file
associations.

I can generalise this and publish if anyone is interested.

I suppose now a button or links to export current tiddler using the
specific file type more easily, or a feature like tiddlyfox that permits
saving these file types without prompting would make it better.

My feeling is this approach is somewhat immune from hacking because of the
minimal user intervention required, and I am using this on a tiddlywiki
dedicated to the local machine only, not hosted.

Your thought please,
Tony
