I am interested in the size as well. An empty Stroll is like 2.6mb so I am

[tw5] Draggable List Problems

2020-07-24 Thread Ken Gray
Dang but I'm having problems with that draggable list function.

I'm using the below code and it activates the drag outline when I grab a
title but it doesn't re-order the list. It does, however, work when I
remove the tag[ABC]. Doesn't the macro allow for that?

any help would be appriciated.

Very cool thanks for sharing. Did you use a specific theme or manipulate
system tiddlers to get rid of sidebars and editing icons?

Also, really looking foward making use of stroll it looks very useful for

Great idea. by the way Long press and select float works on Mobile. I just
could not close it.

This is another way to make otherwise invisible hackability. I use shift click
to open with out navigation, that could also be a default r click menu which
suggests we could add a keyboard shortcut text next to r click items.

I use r click a lot on Windows. Rclick on an area like tiddler title body etc
would be a nice feature because context sensitive r click could be very
helpful. E.g. r click title, copy title to clipboard, or link or transclude. R
click body (not link) copy text, copy html

I am preparing to propose a core change to every button to allow custom actions
perhaps this would be an opportunity to add r click to every button as well?

I have dozens of features and buttons to support rapid design but they start to
crowd the view toolbar and templates. Many of these would be able to pop behind
r click.

Tony

[tw5] Re: OneNote-style flagging

2020-07-24 Thread 'Mark S.' via TiddlyWiki

Excising tiddlers is the method that matches the Philosophy of Tiddlers
.

What's needed is an enhanced excision tool that would:

  1. Allow you to specify a tag
  2. Transclude the excised text and wrap it in a link for rapid access
  3. Insert the original tiddler name into a field "excisedfrom" in the
excised tiddler.
  4. Accompanied by a template that would reveal the excisedfrom field
whenever available.

Then you would be able to grab everything you had tagged (e.g. "Quotes")
for presentation, and easily link back to the source document. Actually, a
version that did 1 and 2, and instead of a field, put in a link to the
source tiddler, would work well with Stroll which already provides the
backlinks.

Jon,

Try to look in the macro. You will see that pfx, text and rest is matching
the work the macro does chewing through the text. The last part the scrub
doesn't seem to work.

It makes me think, that even if it worked, it would not be good for use, if

Here's a version that does the same results using just wikitext instead of
javascript:
\define getData()
<$list filter="[all[missing]!has[draft.of]sort[title]]">
   <$text text="[["/>{{{
[backlinks[]count[]divide[1000]removeprefix[0.]]
}}};<><$text text="]]"/>

\end

\define renderTable()

MissingTimes Referenced
<$list filter="[enlist!sort[]]">

   {{{ [split[;]rest[]join[;]] }}}
   <$text text={{{
[split[;]first[]divide[1]] }}}/>

\end

\define renderList()

<$list filter="[enlist!sort[]]">
{{{ [split[;]rest[]join[;]] }}} (<$text text={{{
[split[;]first[]divide[1]] }}}/>)

\end

<$list filter="[all[missing]limit[1]]" variable="has_missing_tiddlers"
   emptyMessage="No Missing Tiddlers">
   <$wikify name="missing" text=<>>
   <>

I patterned the code structure similar to your javascript code.

* the outermost $list checks that there are missing tiddlesr and displays
either "No Missing Tiddlers", or proceed to get the list of missing
tiddlers and show the output
* getData() generates a list all missing tiddlers
* each item in the list is a combination of the backlinks[]count[]
(zero-padded) and the missing tiddler title, separated by a semi-colon and
enclosed in doubled square brackets (to handle spaces in titles)
* the results of getData() are passed through $wikify to convert the macro
output into an actual list of items
* renderList() and renderTable() enlist[] all items, sorted in descending
order using the zero-padded count, and then splits each item back into its
title and count and then shows the title followed by the count

enjoy,
-e

[tw5] Re: How to generate list of missing tiddlers, sorted by most references

2020-07-24 Thread Felicia Crow
Hi,
so after playing around with filter operators and trying to find a way over
a data tiddler I wrote a javascript macro I attatched below.
The only caveat with this is that you have to close and reopen the tiddler
calling the macro due to how javascript macros are called. Maybe someone
has an idea for how to reload a single tiddler.

For now the macro - called simply with <> - renders as a
list of all missing tiddlers sorted by how often they are referenced:

[image: missingTiddlersList.png]
It can be changed to render as a table by changing this line of code in the
macro:
return renderList(tiddlerData);

To this:
return renderTable(tiddlerData);

Which then looks like this:

[image: missingTiddlersTable.png]

Please be aware that after importing the macro/changing it you have to
reload your wiki for it to take effect.

Also as an aside unlike Tony's solution this uses the backlink filter
operator so it only counts hard links and excludes system tiddlers
completely. A little more about what hard and soft links are here
.
The reason I did this is mostly to ensure that these are actual references
and not just the tiddler title being in the text even if it isn't meant as
an actual reference.
Should you want to use Tony's solution with search instead of backlinks it
is easy change the filter either by yourself or I can update the macro.

Regards,
Felicia

[tw5] Re: OneNote-style flagging

2020-07-24 Thread Jon
Hi Birthe,

Well, that's pretty much exactly what I want!

Unfortunately it's not working correctly in my wikis.

In the first (vs.5:1:21), it works but I get a lot of extraneous text in
the target tiddler, so above the "cherry" I also get a block of text
beginning with *pfx: *and a second beginning with *txt: *and another below
beginning with *rest:*
>
>
In the second wiki (vs. 5:1:22) as soon as I paste the macro into a
tiddler, the browser locks up and I get "A web page is slowing down your
browser" message.

Perhaps it's because my wikis are too weak and feeble to withstand Mat's
genius - hopefully he'll be around soon to put things right :)

Regards
Jon

What does "wikify workaround" mean? It is trivial to do something like this:

<$list filter="""filter to get your tiddlers""">

<$transclude/>

and you can make it as a macro that simply takes the fitler as input.

Yes it is ultimately about that. Vivid got in the way.

[tw5] How can I insert Linbreaks when joining Tiddlers

2020-07-24 Thread Jan

Hello

I would like to do something like this:

{{{ [{$:/temp/StreamRoot}get[text]] [{$:/temp/StreamStart}get[text]]
[{$:/temp/ImplodeStream}get[text]] +[join{breaks}] ] }}}

This means Joinig three Tiddlers preserving their Linebreaks and
separating them with two linebreaks.
I would like to do this without a wikify-workaround because it is quite
a lot of expressions I would build that way.

Is this possible?

Thanks for helping!

Looking through my own old wikies, I must say that your thankyou plugin is
effective in collecting everything I have tested at some point.

TW Tones,

I do like the ideas but at the same time I find it funny, that the
discussion is always about making the user interface simpler.
Let' see: Ton Gerner starting the uptoolbar trend, Saq made use of the info
panel, Mat used the left tiddlerbar, Jan the rightTony I am afraid you
are left to find a use for the bottom bar..LOL

Or find a way for a collection of hidden interchangeable features.

@Mat as mentioned earlier, it can be reworked as a storyview and I did consider
that direction. However it felt like overkill for what I wanted, which is
floating containers in addition to the regular story river.

A story river with floating tiddlers should ideally have extra handling for
relative positions of tiddlers etc. I would say that I might play around with
that some day but I strongly suspect Joshua would beat me to it.
