Several other companies made units to meet these requirements (originally
for synchronising CDMA base stations), including Datum (StarLoc) , and
Odetics/Zyfer (NanoSync).

I've just replaced a Solartron 7150+ with another the same.
The new unit is low hours ex-MOD. It was last calibrated in 2004 and probably
hasn't seen the light of day since.
So (thinks I), I'll just have a play before I strip the filter for a rebuild.
15 minutes is all it took for the
It's a double oven oscillator (vectron I believe) as opposed to the 1/2
tbolts that only have a single oven that everyone else has from the 911
units.
This one has other additional features like full power supply conditioning
(just add 48v power supply) and can have firmware upgraded.
Fellow Time-nuts,
I have problem with a HP5372A, where the CRT failed and only shows a
vertical line of compressed graphics. Obviously something is broken in
the drive-side. So, does anyone have the schematics and possibly other
service info for the CRT module? I can't recall seeing any

If it is a Sony with the non-fr4 board material, look for a hairline
crack in the
board with the flyback, the unit may have been dropped in shipping.

Hi Ian,
never taken an FN372 apart, not really worth it as they are about £25 from RS
components. Most filters are epoxy potted so I think you will have to use a lot
of brute force to open it up and then break up the epoxy.

Anyone knows of a commercially available 10 MHz - 1pps divider
chain, built or in kit form?
I know that it may be very simple or not, depending from
implementations. A desirable feature would be the ability to sync the
pps output to a reference pps at the start of a measurement cycle.
Easy to
Check out the TADD-2 which does just that --

I did find this: http://www.realhamradio.com/GPS_Trimble_Receiver.htm
Looks kind of like a Tbolt in a fancy case. Article says it doesn't work
with Satstat. I'll bet it does work with Tboltmon.

Hello John,
probably the TADD-2 will be just fine. I'm studying the manual.
Thanks for info!

15 minutes is all it took for the signature ffzzt pop of
the filter letting go.
It has (to say the least), forced the issue.
Now I've removed all the solder around the earth pin, but I
still can't get the cover off. Does it just require brute
force to pull it off or there

Cheers Robert,
indeed you are right. I've peeled the shield apart and it is (as you suggest)
full of some sort of potting compound.
Given it's only got about $1 worth of caps in it, I thought it would be worth a
try.
I think the hardest part will be getting rid of the smell.

Hi Ian,
Hi
All of them had double ovens. They came from a variety of suppliers.
Vectron / Norwalk was the original source. At various times they came
from Oak / McCoy, PTI, and possibly CMAC.

I will be coming out with a TVB divider in about two months. Basically, a
board, the PIC, some connectors, and an aluminum enclosure. Nothing
terribly fancy, but definitely priced right. Also, just an FYI, I've got
Tom's blessing on using his code. I'm considering offering a kit but it

It is a (mostly Z3801A) clone made for Nortel by Trimple.
It speaks Trimble, so Lady Heather can discipline it.
It can not be jumper-ed to run RS-232 - RS-485 only.
The insides are completely different from the Z3801A, the rear I/O is the
same except that it accepts +20-30V (+27 to + 27.6V
