Hi. A little while ago, I acquired an ERC EROS - 800-MIL-2  10MHz 24V powered OCXO, dated 95-23. Well, it seems to work, and comparing with the trusty Thunderbolt, once warmed up and viewed on a dual channel 'scope, where one channel is triggered from one source, the drift relative to each other

Probably Nickle Metal Hydrite (NiMh.) Much more electrical capacity in the same size cell as older NiCd's.  No memory effect, and currently available in all the common cell sizes, with or without tag's.   The only thing you might have to do, if the charger is time based, is alter the timer so you

Silly question, and forgive my ignorance. But, why is a simple two transistor discrete Schmitt trigger circuit no good for this purpose? 10MHz is not a problem, so what is bad about it? Regards. Dave G8KBV. ___ time-nuts mailing list --

Yep, Prolific got badly hit by the counterfeiters. So, they depreciated the use of all the early generation chip-sets (even legit ones!) and had MS push out updated drivers to enforce that. That's why it "appears" to be a Windows update problem that stops many older Prolific based adapters

Windows or ??? If Windows, check the OS's power settings, and make sure that it's not sending peripherals to sleep after a period of "Inactivity" (judged by a lack of keyboard/mouse activity, NOT the existence of any running programs, or screen updates.) Regards. Dave B. On 29/08/17 17:00,

Interesting. What about NTPD implementations, when using a TB as the reference time source? Does that handle the week count roll over as well? If that was added, from what version? I suspect I may have some updating to do! I use a TB as a frequency ref' and local NTP/NTPD server reference.
