Boy do I agree with Dave's comments. Even if the big block inverter is bad
it can all be replaced. I have a small inverting supply in my unit to
replace one leg. I think it was the -5V supply. Its been running for 7 plus
years.
Good luck

My Z3801 power supply board has given up the ghost. It had been working
well apart from an occasional Error 230 causing it to go into Holdover
for no good reason from time to time which may well be related of course.

Thanks, Warren. That's a very nice solution! I have a unit on the way from
another time-nut, so I should be set.
I'm pretty sure the problem with the old unit is just aging as I watched the
EFC creep for months toward the limit. I bought two units at the same time

If it is off very far the first thing I'd suspect is the inner oven.
Assuming the freq is still stable and low noise, one option is to rewire it,
and make the freq adjustment accessible.
Removing the original inner wiring wrap also provides many other advantages,

Nasty stuff. Also re-wrapping the outer oven wire would be a big pain.
Since that 3801 had further issues I set it aside.

I have a Z3801A whose oscillator has aged out of correction range, and
thus throws an EFC alarm.
Anyone have a still-in-range double-oven HP10811 from a unit that died
for another reason? If so, I'd be happy to acquire it.
(I tried disassembling one of the double-oven 10811s years ago and

Bear in mind, there are several versions out there with very different
receivers and oscillators. I've got one with an 8-channel- and one with
a 16-channel receiver.

Hello
I am looking for a working Z3801 for a shop bench reference.
Located in Minneapolis.
I see that there is essentially nothing on eBay.
Considering T-Bolt or Z3805 also.

I don't know the seller but has lots of sales.
3816 requires no serial configuration (like 3801) and has two 10 MHz out
standard. Several years back I came up with a mod to convert the 4
19...MHz outputs to additional 10 MHz square outputs. --
