The point I was trying to make, perhaps unsuccessfully, was that since the
can containing the inner oven was sealed, the smell had to be coming from
the insulation between the inner and outer ovens.

One of the sites had the innards of the 10811so that you can dive into it.
Smells will bet that the oven xisitor may have fried in the on position.
That would crispy a lot.
