Hi
There are a *lot* of places that archive this list. As long as you know roughly
when the messages came through, it's not to hard to go dig them up. That's also
a good reason to keep things on list rather than taking everything off list.

Dear Group,
Does anybody know is the TAPR TADD-2 Mini works with input signals with square
wave geometry? Or Sine wave only?
Thank you.

A 50% duty cycle square wave with an amplitude 5V pp should be OK.

Dear Bruce,
Thank you for your kind reply. I think I will get a couple of these nice toys
to play a little bit with them.

I have been looking at the DG8SAQ VNA for other purposes and it is suggested in
the VNWA_Help.pdf on page 158 that it can be used as a high accuracy /
resolution counter. Document available at

The article I pointed him to off the list was wrote by me years ago -
when Time-Nuts was in its infancy - in fact I found Time-Nuts via that

I do not believe in duplicating the effort and there were pictures there

Hello Edgardo --
The T2-Mini uses a wide-range input circuit based on one that Wenzel published
with some modifications. It works with a square wave input (I've done some
limited testing) but I can't verify whether the input amplitude range will
extend as far on either the low or the high

No, not at all, my only point is that keeping info on the list is a good idea
for many reasons (like deleting emails by accident).

Hi
The help file is correct, but possibly a bit misleading. Most of what they show
could be done by a computing counter. They have been around long enough that
they are a sub $100 ($50?) item these days. Clock jitter is going to be a very
real limit doing what they are trying to do.

Dear John,
Your response is welcome. My square signal input is 3.3V and 50% duty cycle.
Low end 0.5V, High end 2.7V.
Will I be able to make it without the bypass? Or should I start warming the
soldering station?
Thanks!

That should be OK connected directly to the input as the resultant
reverse bias on the switching transistor base-emitter junctions is well
within the specified limits
One can check this both by simulating the performance and by actual
measurement with a scope.

Hi Edgardo;
I have been looking for a part number and source. There was a part number
posted but it was for the 34401A which is slightly different. I will post price
and availability if I find them.
