I suspect it will work fine; worst case might be that you add a 3dB attenuator, but I doubt you'll need it. I would test, if you can, to see whether the output jitter varies between the full input level and something that's closer to 1-2V p-p. John On 11/13/2012 9:52 PM, Edgardo Molina

Dear Group, Does anybody know is the TAPR TADD-2 Mini works with input signals with square wave geometry? Or Sine wave only? Thank you. Regards, Edgardo Molina Dirección IPTEL www.iptel.net.mx T : 55 55 55202444 M : 04455 10045822 Piensa en Bits SA de CV Información anexa:

A 50% duty cycle square wave with an amplitude 5V pp should be OK. Bruce Edgardo Molina wrote: Dear Group, Does anybody know is the TAPR TADD-2 Mini works with input signals with square wave geometry? Or Sine wave only? Thank you. Regards, Edgardo Molina Dirección IPTEL

Hello Edgardo -- The T2-Mini uses a wide-range input circuit based on one that Wenzel published with some modifications. It works with a square wave input (I've done some limited testing) but I can't verify whether the input amplitude range will extend as far on either the low or the high

Dear John, Your response is welcome. My square signal input is 3.3V and 50% duty cycle. Low end 0.5V, High end 2.7V. Will I be able to make it without the bypass? Or should I start warming the soldering station? Thanks! Edgardo Molina Dirección IPTEL www.iptel.net.mx T : 55 55 55202444

That should be OK connected directly to the input as the resultant reverse bias on the switching transistor base-emitter junctions is well within the specified limits One can check this both by simulating the performance and by actual measurement with a scope. Bruce Edgardo Molina wrote:
