Hello Jim. Personally I would delicately remove the remains of the thermal plastic film from surface and clean it with a cloth lightly moistened with 70 or 90% alcohol. Then a thin film of thermal grease or a new thermal film to reduce thermal gradient and all will be OK. Regards, Claude

First I want to thank Dave and Byron for their super fast answer. Second I was able to repair my 8131, the problem was in the Tek rack, not the 8131. A voltage was missing to heat the OCXO, caused by an open power transistor in one of the three position of my TM 503, changing to another  TM
