I'm digging into the basic math of how cross-correlation phase noise
test sets (like the 53100A) work, so I'm looking for good articles on
the complex-exponentials math.
One item of interest is the effects of imperfections in the power
dividers that make a pair of perfect copies of the

I'm looking for suggestions for AC-powered 10 MHz sinewave laboratory
signal sources with very low phase noise, having a noise floor below
-170 dBc/Hz. Rubidium is desired, but not essential. Reliability
and durability in lab use is essential.
Which makes and models should I consider

I will be doing some residual phase noise tests in a month or so
using a 53100A Phase Noise Analyzer (not yet in hand), so I've been
studying the users manual and datasheet of the Microchip 52100A Phase
Noise Analyzer. I do know the history, starting with Sam Stein
developing the Timing

A friend of mine has an old round brass Schatz Ships clock (looks
like a Royal Mariner clock, but is not) with a radio-clock quartz
mechanism. This clock is quite dead, but one would think it can be
repaired. When I google on this clock, I don't find repair details
and schematics, I see only
