Yes, from what I can tell, that is a completely different and unrelated PSU. Mine has no rectifiers of any kind, so it definitely can't run from AC. All the large TO packages on the primary side are IRFP250 MOSFETs. I actually found in my stash of stuff a 2A rated 32V PSU, and since it was

Yeah, I actually figured the current rating of the printer PSU was going to be an issue, (Rated at 625mA), but shockingly it seemed to not care much about 1.1 amps being drawn from it. I was using a linear PSU before but unfortunately the 25 amp rated one I have only goes up to 16 volts, not

Sam, I noticed in your last post that you're planning to use a printer type PS. It may work if you luck out, but I suspect that it won't have enough juice to get things up and running. If it's anything like the typical ones I've seen, it's a small SMPS brick, built for running ink-jet

That's quite a bit different from the PS in the Z3801A. From the pictures, I'd guess that the "A" and "B" markings on the DIP switch are for 24 or 48 V AC or DC Battery operation. I did a little looking around, and found this: http://www.realhamradio.com/GPS_Z3816A_Receiver.htm It says that

Hi, thanks for the info. I'll definitely check out the RS-422 thing, I was suspicious that might be the case. I think I'll probably try the thing on 24V and see if it's willing to start. The power adapter I plan to use for it is one from a printer that puts out 31V, so it would probably work
