Hi,
I am running into a situation when running shutdown.sh fails to shutdown
tomcat on Solaris. The scenario is as follows:

Hi all
We have had
this problem lately where we can start tomcat using “Catalina start” but when we exit the console it stops.
When you look at the ps –ef | grep java it shows tomcat running and the PPID is
1 so the process belongs to inetd so I would have though it had detached from
7 MBs where as Mozilla was only
3 MBs.

Hi,
Other people have had this problem. You might want to try Tomcat 4.1.27
as it has a number of Coyote fixes.
As for Solaris settings here are some that I use: (excuse the cut and

Hi everybody,
I have a problem with tomcat 4.1.24 running on Solaris 8 (with JDK
1.4.1_02).
A client of mine is sending requests to the Tomcat instance in a loop (but
sequentially). After a while the client receives a java.net.ConnectException
with the error message
"Connection timed out: connect"
Howdy,
What errors are in the tomcat logs?

Can you check catalina.out (log file) when doing a startup? It looks like
Tomcat never actually starts.

Hello:
A recent post by me asked for help on the Jasper source, well I found it
and built sucessfully on a Sun Solaris 8 machine.
The only problem is that when I run the "startup.sh" or "catalina.sh
start" script I get:
bash-2.03# bin/startup.sh
Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-
guration.

I have been trying to figure out how to configure Netscape Enterprise Server (4 SP2)
to work with Tomcat (4.1.18) on Solaris 8. The how-to docs only outline how to do
this with NES on Windows, not Solaris.
Can anybody help me out here?

Hi,
I've read your HOWTO and followed the instructions. Until the item
"f" I didn't have any difficulty. But, on the time f I couldn't find
Makefile.linux to change it to suite for my system.
Did I forget anything?
Thanks for the HOWTO. It's what I was looking for.

We have a application that we have installed at user sites. A couple of
times we have seen tomcat die when another application is started. I didn't
get a lot of time to diagnose it, but has anyone seen this before or have
some suggestions to try when I go back on site?
TIA

Hi,
We have tomcat app creating files, which get created with permissions
rw-r--r--, the default
according to the system umask 022. Is it possible to configure tomcat to
change the permissions used
when it creates a file?
Thanks.
