I had read in a Hand Book for the 1930's the 3 wire folded dipole and 2 wire

I ran comparisons side by side over the years with folded dipoles, bazookas
against just a plain Jane wire dipole. You can believe what you read.

T2FD I though came out around in the Navy since 1940.
It is -5 db down from a dipole. Shortened versions past and present are still
-5db down from what I have been told. They are very good antennas for emergency
stations.

With all due respect:
The FCP is a dipole. One end is vertical while the other is weaved horizontal
on or near the ground.
The 1:1 isolation Trasformer / Balun serves its purpose as well as stopping
those nasty common mode
conditions.
The FP and CY9 came on and I was not able to work them
The FPC Isolation Trasformer / Balun I am suspecting has a loss about 2 DB a
little more loss than a non isolated balun. Has any one ran any data on this?

Take 2 rods and grind a point on each rod. Point the points toward each other.
There is your spark gap.
You can do the dame thing with copper flat stock used on building grounds in
electrical valts.

I found out from Bird that the 10H slug is no longer in production.
Stopped 7 years ago. Had issues with accuracy and very difficult to build.
The 25H is currently in production. Accuracy is within 10% full scale :-(
A company called REDOT make an HF meter for around 130 bucks.
Any experience
Any one out there using a Bird 43 for measuring out put power for QRP?
I have a 250H element for HF. Should I get the 50H element for HF?
I have a Ten-Tec Omni VI Plus Power turned down to minimum. with the 250H slug
I measure 5 watts, first mark from the bottom of scale. Not very accurate or

Keep in mind this Sole purpose of a BC station is to get coverage of about 60
miles running 5KW day time and 1 KW night time with no fad and quality signal
not to work DX.
I read in some posts or on some web site that it does not matter if the ends
are tied to a ground rod or not. Note then

I just received this message. Hope this helps.
Jim,
I just spoke to the team leader. He says that in the past few days conditions
have fallen off. 80 and 30 in particular have been bothered with heavy static.
The Amps are being used. The 6 meter beacon is running 24/ 7 on 50.104 CW and

All this talk about beverages makes me thirsty. Thats, for 160M DX.
I use to rag chew on CW,use to run CW nets back in the day. If the guy is
calling CQ DX I sit and listen to see what is drummed up. He is paying for the
electric bill not me. Besides chances are he has a better antenna that I
