I'm going from memory so... I've seen a video of a simple detector. In the
video the guy ran along the feedline while transmitting low power. You could
see if there was a signal on the outside of the cable. I'll look later to see

I made 138 contacts in two days with my little squirt gun station here.
The highlight for me was KH6LE my first KH6 contact on 160.. thanks Lloyd.
Few other highlights were TA1K P40AA LX7I C6AGU PJ4P…
Heard and tried to work some EU stations but could not be heard.
I was running 500 to 800
I have had those fail also(QRO).. I'm sure they were cheap ones too.
I have now use the Amphenol brand and have used the ones with the dielectric
PBT and PTFE so neither have failed so far.
The PTFE are more expensive I am assuming those are better ones??
