The YCCC-9 design by John, W1FV is an outstanding performer. I have had
one installed at W5ZN for several years now and have documented direct
comparisons with my HiZ-8 160 and BSEF-8 160 arrays plus my four 580 ft
Beverages. While the HiZ-8 (200 ft diameter on 160) is the clear top
performer
is most times radio amateurs have unrealistic expectations
of what the performance of a specific antenna will be.
With that said, I have compared the antenna you are considering at your
QTH here at W5ZN with a single Beverage that you currently use. I could
not document any noticeable improvement
The situation here at W5ZN is the same as Dave's. Way too much lightning
from now until September to keep all of the 160 meter antennas out and
operational.

I run a lot of RG-11 here on long runs from the shack to my RX arrays
and use PL-259 crimp connectors. I have gone exclusively to the DX
Engineering connector, DXE-PL259CS8U. I crimp the shield and solder the
center pin.
No issues and they work fine here at W5ZN.

Finally got one RX system running last week just before the pre-Stew.
