What a great way to honor your team member. Your 160m team has been around
longer than I thought, congratulations. A half century ago N2AA was one of
the most recognizable contest callsigns. Good luck in the CQ 160m contest!

Hello Top Band enthusiasts.
This year we had extreme QRN for most of the contest, throughout
Australia, so when signals were workable, it was still almost impossible
to make qso's.
We only had good prop to JA and USA / VE / Europe was almost non
existent here.

I made 138 contacts in two days with my little squirt gun station here.
The highlight for me was KH6LE my first KH6 contact on 160.. thanks Lloyd.
Few other highlights were TA1K P40AA LX7I C6AGU PJ4P…
Heard and tried to work some EU stations but could not be heard.
I was running 500 to 800 watts
I did about 10 hours of the contest from DM12. Ended up with ~4000
points better than last year. A few 6s, a single 8, but no KH/KL or EU
stations. Worked pretty much all of VEs but one special was VO2AC,
best DX PJ2T, with a CO2 not too far behind. Was hoping to find D4C
but no luck. TX antenna is
I agree that conditions were a long way from being ideal. Friday was less
ideal than Saturday. However, from here in Virginia I managed to work 20
sixes, 33 sevens and 60 fives and that with a very good beverage pointed at
Europe. If I heard a weak signal answering my CQ and I was having

happened on 160..by a long shot.
I did hear EU both evenings well before SS here and was able to eek out a
few west coast earlier than normal it seemed (with difficulty).
3 CA, 2 WA, 2 OR, 2 VE7, 2 VE6 etc.

Sure wondered how you worked 58 eu from w6 land. I haven't worked more than
a dozen EU from AZ in any recent 160m tests.

below 1810 to check out conditions. There are always stations active and
as that part is always clear it is very useful to check if I can hear NA.
It would be very effective to work split around 1810.
